New Splice Trailer – The human hybrid sci-fi flick is looking cooler and cooler

29th April 2010 By Tim Isaac

After premiering at Sundance, Warner was so impressed with Splice they bought up the rights, gave the filmmaker (Cube’s Vincenzo Natali) a bit more cash to improve some of the effects and are planning a major release for the movie. If the trailers and clips are anything to go by, you can see why they got so excited. Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley star as scientists working hybrid animals, however when they secretly add human DNA into the mix they create something they may be the next step up the evolutionary ladder, or something that could destroy the whole of humanity. Predators Featurette: Cuchillo – Meet Danny Trejo’s character

28th April 2010 By Tim Isaac

Another featurette introducing one of the characters from Predators has emerged, this one featuring Danny Trejo’s Cuchillo. Trejo is a fascinating guy, as while many actors get typecast as tough guys villains because of their looks, Trejo has the experience to back it up, having been locked up in San Quentin when he was younger for armed robbery and drug offences. He’s also had a long association with Robert Rodriguez (who produced Predators), having worked together on Machete, Planet Terror, From Dusk Till Dawn, and pretty much everything else the filmmaker has ever made. Predators sees the infamous dreadlocked aliens kidnapping a bunch of the most bad-ass humans they can find and dumping them on their planet, so they can be hunted. Click below to take a look at the new featurette, and if you like that, watch the ones for Alice Braga’s Isabelle, Adrien Brody’s Royce and Topher Grace’s Edwin.

Toy Story 3 Internet Trailer – What’s the mission?

28th April 2010 By Tim Isaac

Disney probably doesn’t need to promote Toy Story 3. Just a small announcement that the film was going to be coming out would be enough to have people queuing up around the block, but nevertheless the studio seems to be having a lot of fun producing posters, virals and trailers for the movie. Now a new internet only trailer has popped up online, focussing on the movie’s mission. It’s quite fun, offering a great mix of action and humour. Click below to take a look. Toy Story 3 hits UK cinemas on July 23rd, 2010.

Inception Viral – Dream Research – Can we control our dreams?

26th April 2010 By Tim Isaac

Here’s yet another interesting titbit Christopher Nolan has released for Inception, which tells us little about the actual movie but make everything sound very intriguing. This time we get a viral video featuring interviews Nolan did with experts in sleep and how we can control our dreams, which he did as research for the film (although the last couple of interviews seem to morph into something that takes things closer to seeming science fiction). The movie involves people being able to go inside other people’s minds to store and retrieve information, with Nolan trying to capture something of the flavour of REM sleep. Click below to take a look, as it’s very interesting. The movie is out July 16th.
