With JJ Abrams producing, Roger Michell (Notting Hill) directing and a cast including, Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton, Patrick Wilson, and Jeff Goldblum, Morning Glory certainly looks a lot more interesting than most comedies. The film follows a down on her luck television producer, Becky Fully (McAdams), who is set the challenge of reviving a struggling morning show news program. She hires legendary anchor Mike Pomeroy (Ford), but this initially only causes more problems when his masive ego ensures he antagonises everyone, including co-host Colleen Peck (Keaton). And while she struggles with her job, her relationship with her boyfriend (Wilson) also starts to unravel. The film is due out in the autumn, but click below for the trailer.
The Last Exorcism Trailer – The Eli Roth produced mockumentary gets a creepy promo
There’s been a fair bit of buzz building around The Last Exorcism, partly because of the presence of Eli Roth amongst the producers, and also intrigue over whether its mockumentary angle will be able to bring something new to an increasingly stale horror staple. And it really is down to the execution, as the plot is fairly standard stuff about a troubled priest going off into the backwoods to perform his final exorcism, on a girl who’s father is convinced she’s possessed by a demon. However the conceit or having the preacher followed on his mission by a documentary crew certainly promises something a little different, and if the movie is as creepy as the trailer, it could be a winner.
New The Killer Inside Me Trailer – Fresh look at Michael Winterbottom’s controversial blacker-than-noir film
Although Michael Winterbottom has expressed surprise at the controversy over the violence against women in The Killer Inside Me (it provoked anger and walk-outs at Sundance), saying he feels the violence should be shocking and not sanitised, as it would be shocking in real life, there’s no doubt it’s sparked more interest in the film. A few weeks ago we had the UK trailer for the movie, and now its US counterpart has emerged, offering a fresh look at the film. The Killer Inside Me, based on Jim Thompson’s novel, stars Casey Affleck, Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson, with Affleck as a West Texas deputy sheriff who is slowly unmasked as a psychotic, sexual serial killer. The movie hits British cinemas on June 4th.

Alpha & Omega Trailer – Meet the CG animated wolves
Ah the intricacies of wolf society. They’re coming under the spotlight in the CG animation Alpha & Omega. Well, not really, but at least they’re giving it a try with the story of an alpha female wolf and a bottom of the rung male, Kate and Humphrey, who get relocated from Canada to Iowa, where they’re expected to start repopulating the wilderness. However she’s not that impressed with the idea, so they decide they need to try and get home, meeting numerous talking animals along the way. The 3D film, which features the voices of Dennis Hopper, Hayden Panettiere, Justin Long, Cristina Ricci and Danny Glover, is due out in the UK on October 20th, but click below for the trailer.
Love Ranch Trailer – Helen Mirren turns brothel madam
Hmm, you’ve got to wonder how director Taylor Hackford (Ray) pitched this one to wife Helen Mirren, as asking your significant other whether she’d like to play a brothel madam is littered with potential pitfalls. However Helen agreed, and now Love Ranch is preparing for release later this year. Mirren plays one half of a married couple who decide to open the first legal brothel in Nevada, which as you can imagine causes a bit of fuss with the locals.
