Mr. Nice is certainly taking it time to reach screens. A red band trailer was released for the film last July, but it’s not actually due for release until October 8th this year (despite the fact it previously has a release date set for last February). However now a new trailer has surfaced, which gives us a new look at Rhys Ifans take on Howard Marks (the film is based on Marks autobiography). The film will follow Mark’s life as an elite drug smugglers, and his somewhat tall tales of the bizarre and incredible things he got up to before becoming a reformed character (no one’s entirely sure how much of his story is genuinely true). Chloe Sevigny and David Thewlis also star. Click below to watch the new trailer.
Full-Length Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World Trailer – Fresh look at Edgar Wright’s take on the popular comic-book tale
A brand new trailer for Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World Has just appeared over on the film’s official Facebook page, giving us a slightly better and logner look at the movie than the recently released teaser. The much anticipated Scott Pilgrim, based on the comic book series of the same name, follows the title character (Michael Cera), who must defeat his new girlfriend’s seven evil ex-boyfriends in order to win her heart. Edgar Wright’s film looks like its going to to keep the comic’s mix of indie-style romance and superhero action, along with plenty of comic-book/videogame visual flourishes that suggest that Scott Pilgrim is unlikely to look like any film that’s gone before. The film hits UK cinemas on August 13th, but click below for the new trailer.
Skateland Trailer – Back when roller-skating was king
After premiering at Sundance, Skateland has been building up a bit of indie buzz with its early 80s story of a young man called Ritchie, who’s coming to terms with his life in a town where the roller rink and local hangout of a small town is becoming a fading memory. When tragedy strikes his friends and family, Ritchie must face the music, and make the biggest decision of his life. The first trailer for the film, which stars Ashley Greene (Twilight), Shiloh Fernandez (Jericho) and James Legros (Zodiac), has hit the internet, so take a look at it below. No UK release is yet set for the film.
Shanghai Trailer – John Cusack goes to 1940s China
Ever since Shanghai was first mooted, it’s been an intriguing but unusual proposition, with John Cusack re-teaming with the director of 1408, Mikael Hafstrom, for a film about an American in Japanese-occupied Shanghai in 1941, who gets caught up in an ever deepening web of mystery after his friend is killed, and comes to realise that perhaps it’s all connected to Japanese boats ‘disappearing’, as well as Hawaii’s Pearl Harbor. With a mix of American, European and Asian talent, including Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chow Yun-Fat, Gong Li, Ken Watanabe, Franka Potente, David Morse and Hugh Bonneville, it’s certainly one to watch out for. The first international trailer has now arrived, so take a look below.
New Jonah Hex Trailer – A new look at Josh Brolin’s scarred bounty hunter
After extensive reshoots, a new director needing to be brought in to supervise the old one and all sorts of other problems, the DC Comics adaptation, Jonah Hex, is finally heading for the big screen, with a US release on June 10th, followed by its UK debut on September 24th. While the delays caused some problem getting the marketing going, they’ve now released a new trailer, giving us another look at Josh Brolin’s scarred bounty hunter, who has to defeat a plan to lunleash hell on Earth. Life As We Know It Trailer – First look at the all the rom com fun of children being orphaned
Is it just me, or does a romantic comedy about children being orphaned not sound like a good idea? However that’s the basic idea behind the Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel flick, Life As We Know It. They play two people, Holly and Eirc, who dislike each other, with their only shared love being their goddaughter, Sophie. When Sophie’s parents die in an accident, Holly and Eric are named as the new guardians, and suddenly have to raise a child together even though they don’t like one another (although I think it’s fairly safe to assume the animosity doesn’t last). To me it sounds all kids of wrong, but this first trailer makes it look like a fluffy and heartfelt affair, so click below to see what you think.
