Hilary Swank only makes two types of films, dreadful ones that she’s awful in or ones that she wins an Oscar for, with pretty much nothing in between. The jury is still out on this one, as Conviction has certainly got Oscar-bait potential, with Swank playing a woman whose brother (Sam Rockwell) is convicted of murder and locked up. She then begins an obsessive, 18 year quest to prove his innocence, going to law school and dedicating her life to the fight. However with everyone telling her to give up and the evidence getting older and older, can she ever win her battle and free her brothers? So will the film be dreadful or will Swank get an Oscar? Click below for the trailer and see what you think.

Middle Men Trailer – Back to the early days of online porn
A couple of months ago, when Middle Men premiered at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, a red band trailer for the film showed up on the web. Well now Paramount Vatage has bought the rights and brought out their own slightly more flashy, and less rude, trailer for the movie. The movie tells the true story of straight laced businessman Jack Harris (Luke Wilson), who builds the first online billing company dealing exclusively with adult entertainment, back in the days when porn was first coming to the internet. He finds himself caught between the Russian mob, a 23-year-old porn star and the FBI in his bid to make money. Described as Boogie Night meet Goodfellas, watch the new trailer by clicking below.

The Smurfs – Teaser Trailer – The whole world is going blue
We noted yesterday that the first image for The Smurfs gave the whole film a bit of an Enchanted vibe, and now the first teaser trailer has arrived and it’s doing nothing to dispel the feeling. As they only started filming a few weeks ago and the movie isn’t out until August 2011, we perhaps shouldn’t be suprised there isn’t all that much Smurf action going on, but after a world-going-blue set-up, we do get to see the little blue men in their CG form. The film sees some of the Smurfs stumbling through a magic portal that takes them to New York’s Central Park. They then have to find their way home, which is more difficult than they thought as their nemesis Gargamel has followed them. Click below for the brief teaser trailer.

While Susan and Peter don’t get to return this time, Edmund, Lucy and their cousin Eustace get sucked into the magical realm, and head off on the ship, the Dawn Treader, helping Caspian find the seven lost Lords of Narnia. The movie arrives in UK cinemas, December 10th, 2010, but click below for the first trailer.
