New Let Me In Trailer – US trailer brings on the teen vampire remake creepiness

25th July 2010 By Tim Isaac

The deluge of new trailers related to panels at Comic-Con continues with the first American trailer for the Let The Right One In remake, Let Me In. A British teaser promo for the Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) movie has previously appeared online, but now America is getting in on the act with a proper trailer, which it has to be said is pretty creepy. Chloe Moretz play Abby, a quiet girl who moves into a house near the bullied and lonely Owen (Kobi Smit-McPhee). The two become friends, however it turns out Abby is a vampire. Click below to take a look at the trailer. The film is currently due out on October 29th.

Machete Red Band Trailer – Rodriguez sells his grindhouse film with sex and violence

25th July 2010 By Tim Isaac

First a word of warning. While most red band trailers get that designation because of a couple of bad words and perhaps a tiny bit of violence, this once is slightly different, going for the jugular with extreme, bloody violence and nudity – so it’s really only for those over 18 and with a strong constituion. Once more released to tie in with Comic-Con, Robert Rodriguez sells his film on the promise of it being an old style, full-on, grindhouse experience, with all the gruesome violence and boobs you might ever want. Machete stars Danny Trejo as a renegade former Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Steven Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (Robert De Niro), a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of saucy taco slinger Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), Padre (Cheech Marin) his “holy” brother, and April (Lindsay Lohan), a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Jessica Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.

Megamind Extended Comic-Con Trailer – Dreamworks’ film suddenly looks a lot more fun

25th July 2010 By Tim Isaac

The first couple of teasers for Megamind made the movie look like, well, pretty much every other ho-hum Dreamworks Animation movie, and suggested it would continue the company’s weak run post Kung Fu Panda. However now an extended, four-minute trailer has been released, which was shown at the film’s Comic-Con panel, and it certainly gives a far better impression of the movie. The trailer concentrates on the first part of the film, where evil super-villain Megamind (Will Ferrell) finally manages to vanquish his nemesis, Metro Man (Brad Pitt), while also giving us a look at later parts of the film where he decides that being a supervillain with no hero to battle isn’t much fun. Click below for the extended trailer. Megamin hits UK cinemas on December 3rd.

I Am Number Four Featurette – Take your first look at the upcoming alien thriller

23rd July 2010 By Tim Isaac

Comic-Con always has a bit of a problem with timing. It comes just after all the year’s big summer blockbusters have come out, which means that despite their best efforts, many movies coming out before the next Comic-Con don’t really have a lot of footage to show. They do their best, but it’s definitely an issue, and one that I Am Number Four has faced. So rather than having a panel where they couldn’t show anything much because it’s only recently started filming, they produced a behind-the-scene featurette you could access via a code, which has now popped up elsewhere. I Am Number Four is about a group of nine children from a planet called Lorien who have been attacked by a hostile race from another planet. The nine children and their guardians evacuate to earth, where three are killed. The protagonist, a Lorien boy, Number 4 (Alexx Pettyfer), hides in Paradise, Ohio, as a human and tries to evade his predators. The film also stars Glee’s Dianna Agron, Kevin Durand and Timothy Olyphant. Take a look at the behind-the-scenes featurette below.

Saw 3D Teaser Trailer – The franchise is coming to an end

23rd July 2010 By Tim Isaac

Are you ready for Saw 3D? Does anyone still care? Well, Lionsgate is hoping you do. They’ve released the teaser for what they’ve confirmed at Comic-Con will be the last Saw movie (the original plan was to have another one next year to tie things up, but after Saw VI severely underperformed they’ve decided this should be the end). It’s also been revealed that in the game of release date chicken Saw 3D was having with Paranormal Activity 2, it’s the former that’s ducked. Both were due in cinemas October 22nd, with neither willing to give up the slot (a grudge match that got nastier when Saw deliberately stole Paranormal Activity’s director, even though he didn’t want to make Saw 3D, but was contractually obliged to), but now Saw 3D has moved back to October 29th to avoid the competition. Anyway, click below for the teaser.

New Red Trailer – Bruce Willis and co. go back to killing

23rd July 2010 By Tim Isaac

Due to the fact it only recently finished shooting, the makers of Red didn’t have much to show at Comic-Con, but they did debut a new trailer for the DC Comic graphic novel adaptation, which makes the movie look like it’s gonna be a lot of fun. Bruce Willis stars as Frank Moses, a retired black ops agent who becomes the target of a high-tech goverment assassination attempt and must get his old low-tech posse back together to fight off the threat. Alongide Bruce, the film also stars Mary-Louise Parker, Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, Karl Urban, Brian Cox, Richard Dreyfuss, Ernest Borgnine, Julian McMahon, James Remar and Rebecca Pidgeon. And is it just us, or is the idea of Helen Mirren as a top assassin just wonderful? Click below for the new trailer.
