Wes Craven’s My Soul To Take has taken a long time to get to the screen, partly because of last-minute cast changes and a belated conversion to 3D, but also rumours there were problems with the film. However it’s now gearing up for release and the first trailer has arrived. In the sleepy town of Riverton, legend tells of a serial killer who swore he would return to murder the seven children born the night he died. Now, 16 years later, people are disappearing again. Has the psychopath been reincarnated as one of the seven teens, or did he survive the night he was left for dead? Only one of the kids knows the answer
Black Swan Trailer – Darren Aronofky’s latest gets peculiar with Natalie Portman going mental
Ever since it was announced, Black Swan has sounded rather strange, and this trailer just deepens the mystery. In Darren Aronofky’s film, Natalie Portman plays Nina, a ballerina whose career seems to be taking off, but who develops a rivalry with fellow dancer, Lily (Mila Kunis). While Nina is the personification of Swan Lake’s White Swan, Lily is more the dark side of the Black Swan. However as this trailer shows, it gets very odd, with weird rashes, bloodhsot eyes, lesbian kisses, and Nina starting to thing Lily is after her. It all looks very allegorical, as Nina gets in touch with her dark side (especially as there’s a hint Lily isn’t real). The film should be in UK cinemas early next year, but click below for the trailer.
I’m Still Here Trailer – First look at The Lost Year Of Joaquin Phoenix documentary
When Joaquin Phoenix announced last year he was giving up acting and trying to become a rap star, most people thought he’d gone mental. However when it was revealed his brother-in-law Casey Affleck was going to follow him round with a documentary camera during this period, many wondered whether the whole thing was a giant hoax. Those suspicions have never died away, but at least now we get our first look at the film with this trailer. It’s still difficult to tell whether it’s real or not, or if Affleck and Phoenix are trying to make some sort of statement about the world’s interest in imploding celebs (and to be honest, if Affleck just followed his brother-in-law around with a camera while he basically had a breakdown, he’s a bit of an ass). No UK release date is yet set, but it’ll be in US cinemas later this year.
New Monsters Trailer – Fresh look at the alien-creatures-have-taken-over flick
It’s been described as this year’s District 9, as well as being a low-budget Jurassic Park, and as a result there’s little doubt there’s a fair amount of interest in Monsters, not least for being a full-on monster movie with a shooting budget of only $15,000, with all the effects done on home computers (although admittedly by people with plenty of experience). The film is set six years after a NASA space probe arrives back on Earth containing alien life, which grows, evolves and starts to cause havoc, turning the southern US and north of Mexico into an alien infested zone! The film focusses on two characters and their experience in this terrifying new world. The movie will be in UK cinemas on November 12th. While this new trailer still only hints at the creatures, it’s a real tease and suggests the film could be a lot of fun. Click below to take a look.

Salt – London Premiere Footage – Take a look at last night’s event, including Angelina Jolie interview
Salt hits UK cinemas at the end of the week, and to promote that the film had its premiere in London yesterday, attended by the movie’s star, Angelina Jolie. Sony has now released its official video of the event, which is fairly short but includes Jolie talking about the movie, and suggesting you go see it. Here’s the official synopsis: As a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt (Jolie) swore an oath to duty, honour and country. Her loyalty will be tested when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. Salt goes on the run, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture. Salt’s efforts to prove her innocence only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues and the question remains: “Who Is Salt?”
