Morning Glory certainly seems to be one of the most promising comedies of the next few months, with the trailers suggesting a tone similar to a James L. Brooks movie (who made the similarly themed Broadcast News in 1987). With JJ Abrams producing, Roger Michell (Notting Hill) directing and a cast including, Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, Diane Keaton, Patrick Wilson, and Jeff Goldblum, Morning Glory certainly has a lot going for it. The film follows a down on her luck television producer, Becky Fully (McAdams), who is set the challenge of reviving a struggling morning show news program. She hires legendary anchor Mike Pomeroy (Ford), but this only causes more problems when his massive ego ensures he antagonises everyone, including co-host Colleen Peck (Keaton). And while Becky struggles with her job, her relationship with her boyfriend (Wilson) also starts to unravel. The film is due out in the UK on January 7th, but click below for the new trailer.
Priest International Trailer – New look at the Paul Bettany futuristic vampire flick
It’s difficult to know whether to get excited about Priest or not. It does look very cool, but then so did Legion, the last collaboration between Paul Bettany and director Scott Stewart, and that’s turned out rubbish. However let’s put our optimisitc hats on, as this trailer does suggest the adaptation of the graphic novel could well be worth watching. Priest is a sort of supernatural The Searchers, with Paul Bettany as a warrior priest in a future that’s been taken over by vampires, who sets out to track down his kidnapped niece and take revenge on the blood-suckers responsible for taking her. Karl Urban, Cam Gigandet and Maggie Q also star. The film is due out next spring.
The Roommate Trailer – Leighton Meester goes all Single White Female
A lot of people have horror stories about living with a nightmare roomie at university, and now that’s being taken to the extreme with The Roommate. Sara (Minka Kelly) initially thinks its great when she’s paired with Rebecca (Leighton Meester) in their college dorm, but Rebecca is more than a tad unstable and develops a psychotic attachment to Sara, getting rid of anyone who she thinks is standing in their way. Psycho-roomies have been seen before in the likes of Single White Female, and it’s often quite an effective premise. However we’ll have to wait to see if the Gossip Girl actress stacks up as a good psycho-stalker. Click below to see the trailer. The Roommate will be in cinemas next spring.
The Dilemma Trailer – Vince Vaughn has an infidelity decision to make
Ever since it was announced, The Dilemma has sounded like it could be quite fun, with Vince Vaughn as a man who discover that the wife (Winona Ryder) of his best friend (Kevin James), is stepping out with another man, and then has to decide whether to tell him or not. Now the first trailer is here, which suggests that it might indeed be pretty good. The likes of Jennifer Connelly, Channing Tatum and Queen Latifah also star, in a film that brings director Ron Howard back to comedy after many years in charge of more serious fare, such as Apollo 13 and The Da Vinci Code. The Dilemma will hit cinemas early next year, but click below for the trailer.

The Nutcracker In 3D Trailer – Elle Fanning goes on a magical festive adventure
The movie world is forever trying to come up with magical family fantasies that will captivate audiences, but generally they just manage to create something hideously twee. Well, The Nutcracker In 3D seems like it’ll bo little to change things, as while the effects look pretty good, this trailer suggests a very generic story and rather sickly sweet attitude. However maybe it’ll turn out to be a 3D treat. The film is based on Tchaikovsky’s music and story of a nutcracker who comes to life and takes a girl (Elle Fanning) on a trip to a a magical Chistmassy world. However this fantastical kingdom is under threat from the evil rat king, and only the girl and the nutcracker may be able to stop him. Expect the movie in cinemas this Xmas, but click below for the trailer.
