I Am Number Four Teaser Trailer – First teaser and image for the Spielberg produced teen alien thriller

30th September 2010 By Tim Isaac

Dreamworks is re-emerging, and one its first films since disentangling itself from Paramount will be I Am Number Four, about a group of nine young people from a planet called Lorien who have been attacked by a hostile race from another world. The youngsters and their guardians evacuate to earth, where three are killed. The protagonist, a Lorien boy, Number 4 (Alexx Pettyfer), hides in Paradise, Ohio, as a human and tries to evade his predators. The film also stars Glee’s Dianna Agron, Kevin Durand and Timothy Olyphant. While some had wondered whether D.J. Caruso’s film would basically be Twilight with aliens, this teaser suggests something much darker and more action oriented. The movie hits UK cinemas on February 18th, 2011, but click below for the rather exciting teaser and take a look above for the first official image.

Citizen Jane Teaser Trailer – What is Michelle Rodriguez’s all-action retelling of Citizen Kane?

28th September 2010 By Tim Isaac

What on Earth is Citizen Jane? That’s what Michelle Rodiriguez is trying to get people to ask. The film was first mentioned briefly in a press release about the actress’ appearance at this year’s Fantastic Fest, and now attendees of the event have found the place plastered with mini-poster pointing people to a website – CitizenJaneMovie.com – which offers posters and a brief teaser vid.

Most bizarre is the suggestion on the site that ‘Citizen Jane stars Michelle Rodriguez as Charlotte Foster Jane, a lethal assassin hell bent on avenging the murder of her parents in this guns blazing, action packed retelling of Orson Welles 1941 classic, Citizen Kane. She will do anything for her Rosebud…’

The Citizen Kane story is now public domain, so there’s nothing to stop them, but it does sound utterly bizarre, and more like a joke than anything else. However before you get too excited, it has just been announced that Rodriguez has joned the cast of low-budget flick Blacktino, and the likes of /Film and Bleeding Cool are suggesting Citizen Jane could be a film-within-a-film in that movie, especially as a casting call did go out for an athletic action heroine to appear in a fake trailer in Blacktino. But hell, the Machete trailer became a full movie, so see if you’re intrigued by the poster below, and the teaser underneath that, and maybe one day we really will get a Citizen Jane flick!

Jackboots On Whitehall Trailer – Action figures get their own WWII movie!

24th September 2010 By Tim Isaac

Jackboots On Whitehall certainly looks unusual – a stop-motion animated movie using action figures and dolls, to tell a story about an alternative history of World War II, where the Nazi invade England and the Brits must fight back. Think Robot Chicken gone British and feature-length. It’s a tough film to describe, so the best thing to do is probably to watch the trailer, which gives you a good idea of the movie’s anarachic style. The film, which features the voices of Ewan McGregor, Rosamund Pike, Timothy Spall, Tom Wilkinson and Alan Cumming, amongst others, will be in cinemas on October 8th, but click below for the trailer.

The King’s Speech Trailer – Teaching George VI to speak in the Oscar contending flick

24th September 2010 By Tim Isaac

There wasn’t a huge amount of buzz about The King’s Speech until it screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and went of to pick up the People’s Choice award. The reception was so good that it’s now seen as an Oscars frontrunner. The movie is about George VI, known to his family as Bertie, who was unespectedly thrust onto the throne when his brother abdicated. This was particularly problematic as he had a bad stammer, but was now suddenly supposed to speak for the nation, which became even more pressing as war approached. Colin Firth takes the main role, with Helena Bonham Carter as Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother) and Geoffrey Rush as Lionel Logue, the man who talk Bertie to speak. It’ll hit UK cinemas on January 7th, but click below for the trailer.

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part I Trailer – This is looking awesome!

23rd September 2010 By Tim Isaac

There’s little doubt that the release of the two-part Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is becoming quite an event, which isn’t really that much of a surprise, seeing as it’s the highest grossing film franchise in history, and has millions of devoted fans. While a trailer for both parts arrived a couple of months ago, now we have one specifically for the first part of the final tale, which largely involves Harry, Ron and Hermione going off in search of Horcruxes. And to be honest it looks pretty awesome, with plenty of Voldemort, as well as glimpses of various battles and even seven Harry Potters (including one in a skirt – as you cans ee above). In fact, the trailer is more exciting that I remember the entire first half of the book being, so hopefully the film will follow suit. It’ll be in cinemas on November 19th, but click below for the trailer.

Gnomeo & Juliet Trailer – Shakespeare goes to the bottom of the garden

22nd September 2010 By Tim Isaac

Although the title is enough to make you a little bit sick in your mouth, the upcoming CGI animated Gnomeo and Juliet has more promise that it’s name might suggest. It has music by Elton John, and a voice cast of Blighty talent including James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Jason Statham, Michael Caine, Maggie Smith, Patrick Stewart, Julie Walters, Matt Lucas and even Ozzy Osbourne. As you may have guessed, the film takes Shakespeare’s story and give it a gnome-ish twist, with two young lovers finding themselves star-crossed amidst warring factions of indoor and outdoor gnomes. The animation certainly seems good, and the trailer suggests it might be fun. Gnomeo and Juliet will be in cinemas next year, but click below for the trailer.
