Drive Angry Trailer – Nic Cage is breaking out of hell and he’s furious!

15th October 2010 By Tim Isaac

A new trailer has appeared online for Drive Angry, the rather ridiculous but potentially fun sounding flick starring Nic Cage as Milton, a hardened felon who has broken out of hell for one last chance at redemption. Intent on stopping a vicious cult who murdered his daughter, he has three days to stop them before they sacrifice her baby beneath a full moon. Plus the Devil’s right hand an wants to take him back to damnation before he can complete his task. They sure are selling the fact it was shot natively in 3D (rather than post-converted), but hopefully it’ll have more to offer than that when it hits cinemas early next year.

All Good Things Trailer – First look at the Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst drama

15th October 2010 By Tim Isaac

Ryan Gosling’s going to be busy over the next few months, as he’s not only shooting Drive, but he’s also got two new movies to promote, Blue Valentine and All Good Things. We got a trailer for the former a few days ago, and now one’s shown up for the latter, with both being potential Oscar-bait. Inspired by the most notorious missing person’s case in New York history, All Good Things is a love story that becomes a murder mystery, set against the backdrop of a New York real estate dynasty in the 1980s. Produced and directed by Andrew Jarecki (Capturing The Friedmans), the film was inspired by the story of Robert Durst (Gosling), scion of the wealthy Durst family. Mr. Durst was suspected but never tried for killing his wife Kathie (Kirsten Dunst) who disappeared in 1982 and was never found. The movie also stars Frank Langella and should reach UK cinemas early next year.

Barney’s Version Trailer – Paul Giamatti is having marital troubles with all his wives

15th October 2010 By Tim Isaac

The teaser for Barney’s Version that showed up a couple of months ago suggested a flat-out comedy, but this full trailer shows it may be a lot more romantic and bittersweet than it previously seemed. Whatever the tone of the actual film, it certainly has a great cast, with Paul Giamatti, Dustin Hoffman, Rosamund Pike, Rachelle Lefevre (who lost her role as Victoria in the Twilight films because she went off and made this movie), Minnie Driver, Mark Addy, Scott Speedman and Bruce Greenwood. The comedy charts four decades in the life of the politically incorrect and blunt Barney Panofsky (Giamatti), who marries the wrong woman twice and is hoping it’s third time lucky (except it isn’t), and then there’s a mysterious fourth woman, who becomes Barney’s desperate love. The film should hit UK cinemas on January 7th.

Wrecked Trailer – Adrien Brody has memory problems in this wilderness thriller

14th October 2010 By Tim Isaac

It doesn’t look like Adrien Brody is going to be having a very good time in Wrecked. He plays a man A Man who wake up in a mangled car-wreck at the bottom of a steep cliff. He’s injured, his legs are trapped, and he has no memory of who he is or how he got there. His only company is a crackling radio broadcast of a violent bank robbery gone wrong and a corpse in the back seat with a wallet identifying him as one of the perpetrators. As the man ventures beyond the wreckage, he must rely on his primal instincts, using anything he can find in the surrounding wilderness  to increase his chances of survival. Confronted with overwhelming obstacles, both real and imagined, the Man must discover his identity and face the consequences of what that might be. The film should hit UK cinemas during Spring 2011.

I Am Number Four – Origins Featurette – What’s the Spielberg and Bay produced sci-fi flick all about?

14th October 2010 By Tim Isaac

Although it’s not due out until February, the hype is already gearing up for the Spielberg produced alien teen thriller, I Am Number Four. As it’s not based on a story or property people know, they’re spending a lot of time trying to explain the basic premise, and that’s where this featurette comes in, offering new footage from the flick and director DJ Caruso and star Alex Pettyfer giving a basic overview of what it’s all about. The film sees a group of nine young people from a planet called Lorien that has been attacked by a hostile race from another world. The youngsters and their guardians evacuate to earth, where three are killed by the chasing hostiles. The protagonist, a Lorien boy, Number 4 (Alexx Pettyfer), hides in Paradise, Ohio, as a human and tries to evade his predators. The film also stars Glee’s Dianna Agron, Kevin Durand and Timothy Olyphant. The movie hits UK cinemas on February 18th, 2011, but click below for the featurette about the film’s origins.
