I think it’s fair to say Rabbit Hole won’t be a laugh a minute. In fact if this trailer is anything to go by, it’s going to be impressively miserable. That’s not to say it won’t be good, just that a film about a couple trying to deal with the loss of a child is always going to be a tough watch. Rabbit Hole certainly has a good pedigree though, as it’s based on David Lindsay-Abaire’s Pulitzer and Tony Award winning play, and stars the likes of Nicole Kidman, Aaron Eckhart, Sandra Oh and Dianne Wiest. The film is definite Oscar-bait, so expect it to hit the UK early next year. Click below to watch the trailer.
The King’s Speech – UK Trailer – Take a look at the Oscar front-runner
Over the last few weeks, the trailers for the movies that are lining themselves up for an Oscar run have been appearing, and following a few festival screenings, The King’s Speech has emerged as a real front-runner in the Academy Awards race, garnering rave reviews both for the movie and the performances. The movie is about King George VI, known to his family as Bertie, who was unexpectedly thrust onto the throne when his brother abdicated. This was particularly problematic as he had a bad stammer, but was now suddenly supposed to speak for the nation, which became even more pressing as war approached. Colin Firth takes the main role, with Helena Bonham Carter as Elizabeth (later the Queen Mother) and Geoffrey Rush as Lionel Logue, the man who taught Bertie to speak. It’ll hit UK cinemas on January 7th, but click below for the trailer.
Unknown Trailer – Liam Neeson is having major memory problems in this new thriller
It really would be a bit shit if you woke up from a short coma and suddenly everyone you knew claimed they’d never met you before. Well, that’s what happen to Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) in Unknown, and while he initially thinks that perhaps his head injuries have completely screwed with his head, especially as even his wife doesn’t recognise him and says she’s married to someone else (who seems to have assumed his identity), he becomes convinced there’s something far dark and stranger going on. Although it looks like it might be more than a little silly, from the evidence of this Trailer, Unknown could also be a lot of fun. The film should hit cinemas early next year.
Scream 4 Teaser Trailer – Ghostface is back!
It’s finally here. While several sites posted the Scream 4 teaser a couple of days ago, apparently they shouldn’t have done and Dimension Films busily went round the web tell everyone to pull the promo. However it’s now back, and so we’re allowed to run it! Although short and not exactly packed with story details, it gives us a decent look at the new and returning characters, as well as the return of Ghostface and his creepy phonecall. It’s also pretty good at being suggestive – why’s Courtney Cox wearing a Ghostface mask? Will she get killed? What exactly is Kristen bell and Anna Paquin’s role in all this? Click below to take a look. Scream 4 hits cinemas next April.
The Rite Trailer – Anthony Hopkins is exorcising demons!
Hollywood seems to like exorcisms, especially if they can shove the words ‘Inspired By A True Story’ above the title. The Rite joins the throng, with Anthony Hopkins playing an unortodox priest and master exorciser, who introduces a sceptical seminary student, Michael (Colin O’Donoghue), to the darker side of the faith. While Michael thinks demonic possession is just hysteria and people with mental problems, it turns out things are far more supernatural than that. Take a look below for the slightly OTT trailer. The film hits cinemas early next year.
Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Scream Awards Trailer – It’s all go in the world of Hogwarts!
The Scream Awards were held in the US a few days ago, and as part of the ceremony, a few exclusive trailers were debuted (such as the one for Scream 4, which we posted earlier today). Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 1 also got a new trailer for the awards show, and while it’s short, it has plenty of fresh footage and certainly suggests it’s all action as Harry and co. prepared for the final showdown with Voldemort and his cronies. The film hits cinemas on November 19th, but click below for the Scream Awards trailer
