Red Riding Hood Teaser Trailer – Amanda Seyfriend has romance and werewolf problems!

17th November 2010 By Tim Isaac

While Catherine Wardwicke decided not to direct the follow-up to Twilight after the success of the first film, it doesn’t look like she’s straying too far with Red Riding Hood – or it could be this teaser trailer is deliberately designed to make the film – which is a darker, gothic take on the traditional fairy story – look like a medieval Twilight.

In the upcoming film Amanda Seyfried plays Valerie, who is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). The lovers plan to run away together but learn that Valerie’s older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village. For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, but the wolf has now upped the stakes by taking a human life. Hungry for revenge, the people call on famed werewolf hunter, Father Solomon (Gary Oldman), but his arrival brings unintended consequences as he warns that the wolf, who takes human form by day, could be any one of them. Take a look at the teaser trailer below. The film is set for release on April 15th, 2011.

13 Trailer – Statham, Rourke, 50 Cent, Riley and Winston play Russian roulette

17th November 2010 By Tim Isaac

A couple of months ago we posted a Russian trailer for the upcoming movie, 13. Well now an English version has emerged, via Shadow And Act, giving us our first English-language look the the remake of the cult French film, 13 Tzameti. The remake has a rather impressive cast including Alexander Skarsgard, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Sam Riley, Emanuelle Chriqui, Ray Winstone, Michael Shannon, 50 Cent and Natasha Lynonne, and follows a naive young man who assumes a dead person’s identity and finds himself embroiled in an underground world of power, violence, and chance where men gamble behind closed doors on the lives of other men. The trailer may reveal a little too much, but click below to take a look anyway.

Green Lantern Trailer Arrives! – First look at next year’s massive superhero movie

17th November 2010 By Tim Isaac

It’s here! The first trailer for the massive Green Lantern movie has arrived, and despite not being out until next summer, it features a surprising amount of special effects shots. The trailer seems to be trying to give off a bit of a Iron Man vibe – funny but not silly – as well as suggesting thinks will be a little Avatar, with weird alien creatures and planets. Ryan Reynolds plays test pilot Hal Jordan, who becomes the first human member of the intergalactic protectors of peace and justice, the Green Lantern corps. However when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, Jordan may be the only one who can stop it. It’s all pretty cool, and the Green Lantern’s CGI suit looks better than many expected – indeed with most of the rest of the Corps being fully CGI creations, it makes a lot of sense as it ensures the human member doesn’t stand out too much. Click below to take a look. Green Lantern hits cinemas June 17th, 2011. (BTW, the image above is a new piece of promo art released alongside the trailer.

New Trailer For The Mechanic – Jason Statham wants revenge, alongside Ben Foster

17th November 2010 By Tim Isaac

The previous trailer for The Mechanic was quite cool, but felt more as if it was designed for distributors than the audience, but now a new, action-packed promo has arrived, which it has to be said, does make the film look like it’ll be worth watching. Jason Statham gets to step into Charles Bronson’s shoes , a reimagining of the 1972 Bronson movie of the same name (which was directed by Michael Winner). Statham plays an elite hitman who befriends a young man (Ben Foster) who wants to learn the trade. However it becomes clear that the apprentice may have an ulterior motive, which puts both their lives in danger. Directed by Simon West (Con Air) It looks like Statham’s back to doing what he does best – kicking-ass. The film hits UK cinemas on January 28th, 2011.

Love & Other Drugs – Red Band Trailer – The Gyllenhaal & Hathaway movie gets a bit ruder

15th November 2010 By Tim Isaac

While it doesn’t reach the UK until December 28th, Love & Other Drugs hits US cinemas later this month, and so the people behind the Jake Gyllenhall and Anne Hathaway flick have decided to take this a bit ruder and R-Rated with a new trailer. It basically allows a lot more sex talk, naughty words and Jake have a bit of an erection problem! It’s interesting as the first trailer sold it as a simple rom-com, while this goes much raunchier and much more comedic, so it’ll be interesting to find out what tone the movie actually has. The book it’s based on, Jamie Reidy’s memoir, Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman, is as much about how meeting a girl with Parkinson’s changed pharmaceutical rep Reidy’s view of what big drug companies were doing, but it appears things may not be qute as serious in the movie! Click below to take a look.
