CBS Films was busy gearing up to release of the Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer mystical teen romance, Beastly, earlier this year, but then put it on hold, partly because it was scheduled to clash with the release of Hudgen’s boyfriend’s, Zac Efron’s, movie Charlie St. Cloud, and partly because they realised Alex Pettyfer might be a bigger draw after the February release of the Dreamworks sci-fi flick I Am Number Four. So now it’s due for release in March, and so the promotion is gearing up again with a new trailer, which takes us further into the modern Beauty and the Beast tale of an arrogant high school pretty boy (Pettyfer), who is cursed with ugliness and told he only has a year to find true love, or he will stay deformed forever. Luckily Hudgens’ may be able to see through the fug. Click below to watch the trailer and pretend it’s not trying to be the new Twilight and failing.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides – ET Set Visit – Going to see Johnny Depp on set in Greenwich

The report they’ve aired features an interview with producer Jerry Bruckehimer, as well as the first footage from the movie and plenty of behind-the-scenes snippets, including Johnny Depp running around on top of carriages. The Beaver Trailer – Mel Gibson goes a bit mental with a puppet
Playing a man going through a crisis after his life collapses seems oddly prescient for Mel Gibson, although presumably the actor isn’t using a puppet to help him get through his current roubles. However that’s what The Beaver is about, with Mel as Walter Black, a man plagued by his own demons who was once a successful toy executive and family man, but now suffers from depression. No matter what he tries, Walter can’t seem to get himself back on track, until a beaver hand puppet enters his life, who becomes his way to detach and communicate with the world. While many wondered whether the Jodie Foster directed and starring movie would ever see the light of day following Mel’s racist rants, it’s due for UK release in February. Now the trailer is here, so click below to take a look. It might be pretty good, if we ignore Mel’s pariah status!
Killing Bono Trailer – Ben Barnes has to deal with the rise of U2
It’s certainly a provocative title (and indeed many have idly thought about it from time to time), but Killing Bono isn’t about trying to murder the U2 frontman, but the story of the McCormick brothers, who set their sights on rock stardom in Dublin in the late 70s and early 80s. However while their band fails to take off, at the same time fellow Dubliners U2 are starting to take over the world, and becomes the McCormick’s greatest rivals. It’s a fun idea, based on a real life tale, and as Neil McCormick is now a music critic for The Telegraph, they got the trailer exclusive, which we’ve embedded below. Killing Bono stars Ben Barnes, Robert Sheehan and Krysten Ritter, and will hit UK cinemas on April 1st, 2011.
The Tempest Featurette – Story – The cast and crew talk Julie Taymor’s Shakespeare adaptation
While the big Julie Taymor news at the moment surrounds the previews of the Broadway musical, Spider-man: Turn Off The Dark, which she has directed, she’s also preparing to launch her film version of Shakespeare’s The Tempest on the world. It all look a little weird (as you’d expect is you’ve seen Taymor’s Titus, Frida or Across The Universe), but certainly seems to show off her imagination. Now a new featurette has shown up online, which features plenty of new footage, as well as the cast and crew talking about the movie. In a bit of gender-bending, Helen Mirren takes on the now female sorceress Prospera, whose journey spirals through vengeance to forgiveness as she reigns over a magical island, cares for her young daughter, Miranda, and unleashes her powers against shipwrecked enemies. The movie also stars Russell Brand, Reeve Carney, Tom Conti, Chris Cooper, Alan Cumming, Djimon Hounsou, Felicity Jones, Alfred Molina, David Strathairn, and Ben Whishaw. It should be in UK cinemas March 4th, 2011.
Frankie & Alice Trailer – Halle Berry has multiple personalities!
Multiple Personality Disorder (more properly known now as Dissociative Identity Disorder) has long held a fascination for film an TV makers, even though for a long time there’s been considerable controversy over whether it genuinely exists, or if it’s more or less ‘created’ between the patient and therapist. However it’s an interesting idea for drama, and actors certainly like it, as they get to show their range, playing completely different personalities in the same film. Now it’s Halle Berry’s turn in Frankie & Alice. She plays Frankie Murdoch, a woman suffering from multiple personalities in early 70s LA, who comes under the care of a doctor, played by Stellan Skarsgard. Frankie’s plight is made all the more unusual by the fact that while she is African-American, her alter-personality is ‘white’ and incredibly racist. Berry’s already being talks about for an Oscar nomination. Click below to watch the trailer.
