Star Wars Blu-Ray Teaser Trailer – Get excited for this September

11th January 2011 By Tim Isaac

You know what Star Wars is, right? If you don’t, what the hell are you doing on a movie site? Well it was officially announced last week that all six films are coming to Blu-ray this September. You can find out more about that, including the full press release by clicking here. Now Fox has released a teaser trailer for the release, which as you’d expect includes plenty of footage, but not too much detail on what will be in the sets. Click below to take a look, and hopefully a full breakdown of features will be available soon.

Paul – US Trailer – New look at Pegg & Frost’s alien adventure

7th January 2011 By Tim Isaac

A few weeks ago the UK trailer for Paul debuted, and now the US version has come online, and while similar it features enough new and different footage to make it worth a look. As with the previous trailer, it suggests it’s almost like a grown-up comedy version of ET and could be very funny indded. Nick Frost and Simon Pegg play two Brits excited about travelling across the States to see Area 51, but who gets more than they bargained for when they end up helping an alien (voiced by Seth Rogen), who’s crash-landed. While they try to help Paul get home, they also need to elude the authorities that are desperate to capture him. Click below to watch the new trailer. Paul will be in cinemas Feb 14th.

Ice Age Short – Scrat’s Continental Crack-Up – Introducing us to Ice Age: Continental Drift

7th January 2011 By Tim Isaac

Let’s hope that no kids out there think they’re actually learning anything from the Ice Age movies, as they’ve already suggested dinosaurs were living underground during the last global freeze and now it appears that in the upcoming fourth film, they want to say the continents only broke up during the last ice age. Although not due out until summer 2012, Fox has released an Ice Age short, as usual featuring Scrat and his acorn (surely he’d have starved by now if he’s spent years chasing the one nut), which introduces us to the world of Ice Age: Continental Drift. Henry’s Crime Trailer – Keanu Reeves returns to comedy as a criminal

6th January 2011 By Tim Isaac

It’s been difficult to tell exactly what the Keanu Reeves flick Henry’s Crime would be like, as while it was initially described as a ‘Capraesque romantic comedy’, the first pictures looked rather grim and serious. Now a new trailer has arrived, showing us that it is indeed a comedy. Interestingly though, even in the trailer it’s James Caan and Vera Farmiga who get to be funny, suggesting Keanu may once more be doing his block of wood impression. Click below to take a look. The film hits UK cinemas on Janury 14th.

Here’s the official synopsis: Upon his release one year later, Henry finds his purpose. Working the night shift as a toll collector on a lonely stretch of highway in Buffalo, New York, Henry (KEANU REEVES) is a man without ambition, dreams or purpose. He gets his wakeup call early one morning when he becomes an unwitting participant in an ill-conceived bank heist.

Rather than give up the names of the real culprits, Henry takes the fall and goes to jail. There, he meets the irrepressible Max (JAMES CAAN), a con man who’s grown far too comfortable with the familiarity and security of his ‘idyllic’ life behind bars. He’s not about to leave prison. But he helps plant an idea in Henry’s mind that will change his life forever.

Upon his release one year later, Henry finds his purpose. Having done the time, he decides he may as well do the crime. Discovering a long forgotten bootlegger’s tunnel, which runs from the very same bank to a theater across the alleyway, he recruits his reluctant former cellmate to stage a robbery. Their plan is simple: By infiltrating the theater and its current production of “The Cherry Orchard,” the unlikely duo will buy just enough time to dig their way to the bank vault and drive off into the sunset. Unfortunately, that plan also includes Henry taking the lead role in the play, where he finds himself slowly falling for the production’s mercurial leading lady, Julie (VERA FARMIGA).

No Strings Attached – Red Band Trailer – Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman get shagging

4th January 2011 By Tim Isaac

The battle of the no-commitment shagging movies is heating up, with the Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake movie, Friends With Benefit due this summer, but coming first is No Strings Attached, which hits UK cinemas on February 25th. Both films have similar plots, with this one having Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman as the friends who are initially looking for simple sexual release, but whose relationship gets increasingly complicated when one starts to have feelings for the other. There’s more swearing and nudity – including Ashton’s butt, if you’re into that kind of thing – in this new red band trailer, which suggests this is a film that won’t shy away from a bit of sex-talk. The Mechanic – Red Band Trailer – Jason Statham gets violent as a kick-ass assassin

4th January 2011 By Tim Isaac

Jason Statham gets to step into Charles Bronson’s shoes in The Mechanic, a reimagining of the 1972 Bronson movie of the same name (which was directed by Michael Winner), and now a red band, more violent trailer for the film has surfaced. Statham plays an elite hitman who befriends a young man (Ben Foster) who wants to learn the trade. However it becomes clear that the apprentice may have an ulterior motive, which puts both their lives in danger. Directed by Simon West (Con Air) It looks like Statham’s back to doing what he does best – kicking-ass and shooting people in OTT choreographed ways. The film hits UK cinemas on January 28th, 2011. Click below to take a look.
