Fright Night Trailer – Plus first poster for the comedy-horror remake

14th May 2011 By Tim Isaac

The first trailer and poster have arrived for Fright Night, the Craig Gillespie directed remake of the 1985 comedy-horror. You can see the poster above, while the trailer is embedded below. Here’s the synopsis: ‘Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all – he’s running with the popular crowd and dating the hottest girl in high school. In fact, he’s so cool he’s even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). But trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry (Colin Farrell) moves in next door. He seems like a great guy at first, but there’s something not quite right—and everyone, including Charlie’s mom (Toni Collette), doesn’t notice. After witnessing some very unusual activity, Charlie comes to an unmistakable conclusion: Jerry is a vampire preying on his neighborhood. Unable to convince anyone that he’s telling the truth, Charlie has to find a way to get rid of the monster himself in this Craig Gillespie-helmed revamp of the comedy-horror classic.’

Straw Dogs Trailer – First look at the remake of the controversial flick

14th May 2011 By Tim Isaac

Ever since it was announced they were going to remake Straw Dogs, a lot of people have felt it was a bad idea and that Sam Peckinpah’s Cornish set original shouldn’t be touched, partly because it’s the sort of movie that’s so built on mood and unease, it’d be almost impossible to recreate successfully. However Rod Lurie has gone ahead, moving the action to the US, and sees David and Amy Sumner (James Marsden and Kate Bosworth), a Hollywood screenwriter and his actress wife, return to her small hometown in the deep South to prepare the family home for sale after her father’s death. Once there, tensions build in their marriage and old conflicts re-emerge with the locals, including Amy’s ex-boyfriend Charlie (Alexander Skarsgård), leading to a violent confrontation. Click below for the trailer, which certainly seems to be going for more spectacle than the original. The film is currently set for release on October 28th.

It hits cinemas on June 1st.

New Cars 2 Trailer – Lightning McQueen is off around the world

13th May 2011 By Tim Isaac

It’s not long now until Lightning McQueen and Mater return on July 22nd, and while some miserable people are still wondering why Pixar chose Cars to make a sequel to, it’s probably because they don’t realise quite how popular the original is, particularly with the younger crowd – indeed more Cars merchandise has been sold than for any other Pixar flick. And with the racecar and his mate off around the world and involved in espionage, it looks a lot of fun. Here’s the synopsis: ‘T Star racecar Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) and the incomparable tow truck Mater (voice of Larry the Cable Guy) take their friendship to exciting new places in Cars 2 when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. Adding to the fast-paced fun is a colorful new all-car cast that includes secret agents, menacing villains and international racing competitors.’ Click below for the new trailer.

Super 8 TV Spot – Something’s out there….

13th May 2011 By Tim Isaac

Here’s the synopsis: In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined. Now the first TV spot has arrived, so click below to see what people are getting excited about. The film hits UK cinemas August 19th.

Horrible Bosses Trailer – Aniston, Farrell and Spacey are complete asses (or at least play asses)

12th May 2011 By Tim Isaac

Horrible Bosses certainly has a good cast, with Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey as the titular bosses, and Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day as the employees who would quite like them dead. The first trailer for the entertaining look movie has just arrived. Here’s the synopsis: For Nick, Kurt and Dale, the only thing that would make the daily grind more tolerable would be to grind their intolerable bosses into dust. Quitting is not an option, so, with the benefit of a few-too-many drinks and some dubious advice from a hustling ex-con, the three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective employers…permanently. There’s only one problem: even the best laid plans are only as foolproof as the brains behind them. Horrible Bosses is due in cinemas July 22nd. Click below and enjoy Colin Farrell’s ridiculous wig (which he’s probably using to hide his lack of funnies).
