The full version of Adele’s theme song for the upcoming Bond movie Skyfall has arrived. It’s a very good track, which feels modern and yet harks back to classic 007, with lots of strings and a feel that will fit well with the series’ traditional elaborate title sequences. The don’t have that sequence yet, so you’ll have to head to cinemas on October 26th to get a look at those. In the film, Daniel Craig returns as James Bond, helping M after ghosts from her past return.
Broken City Trailer – Mark Wahlberg investigates a corrupt Russell Crowe
Personally I don’t think I’ll be queueing up for Broken City as Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe are two of my least favourite actors, but a lot of people like them and the trailer for Broken City does make the movie seem like it might be okay. The film follows Billy Taggart (Wahlberg), a former cop who is hired to tail the cheating wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) of the city’s corrupt mayor (Crowe). Taggart successfully finds the man that the woman is sleeping with, but it’s not until after the man has been murdered. The movie’s supporting cast includes Barry Pepper, Kyle Chandler, Jeffrey Wright, Griffin Dunne, James Ransone, and Justin Chambers. The movie is currently set for UK release on January 25th, 2013.
A Good Day To Die Hard Teaser – McClane and son go to Russia
We don’t get much plot on the teaser for A Good Day To Die Hard, but it certainly suggests playful humour, plenty of action and a little bit of sexiness. The film sees John McLane being a fish out of water once again, this time is Russia, where he teams up with his estranged son (Jai Courteney) to take down some bad guys. The film’s due out February 14th, 2013, so it’ll be a Valentine’s movie for the guys.
Movie 43 Red Band Trailer – A host of stars get a bit rude
A couple of days ago we posted the first images from Movie 43, an ensemble comedy/anthology that sees a host of well-known faces trying to bring the funny and the rude to the big screen. Brought to the screen by producer Peter Farrelly, it features an amazing cast including Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Bell, Halle Berry, Leslie Bibb, Kate Bosworth, Gerard Butler, Bobby Cannavale, Kieran Culkin, Josh Duhamel, Anna Faris, Richard Gere, John Hodgman, Terrence Howard, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Knoxville, Justin Long, Stephen Merchant, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chloë Grace Moretz, Chris Pratt, Liev Schreiber, Seann William Scott, Emma Stone, Jason Sudeikis, Uma Thurman, Naomi Watts, and Kate Winslet. Now a red band trailer has arrived to give us a better feel for the series on interlinked comedy sketches. It’s currently due for UK release on February 1st 2013.
The Croods Teaser Trailer – First look at Dreamworks Animation’s caveman tale
I’m not normally a big fan of Dreamworks Animation’s offering, but The Croods looks like it could be a charmer. The Croods is a prehistoric comedy adventure that follows the worlds first family as they embark on a journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always shielded them from danger is destroyed. Travelling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures and their outlook is changed forever. Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman lead the voice cast, with a March 22nd, 2013 UK release set.
Parker Trailer – Jason Statham gets angry and action-packed once more
Jason Statham may play pretty much the same character in every film, but his movies are usually fun, even if they aren’t exactly high art. Now he’s got a new one incoming, Parker, which sees Statham as a professional thief who lives by a personal code of ethics: Don’t steal from people who can’t afford it and don’t hurt people who don’t deserve it. But on his latest heist, his crew double crosses him, steals his stash, and leaves him for dead. Determined to make sure they regret it, Parker tracks them to PalmBeach, playground of the rich and famous, where the crew is planning their biggest heist ever. Donning the disguise of a rich Texan, Parker takes on an unlikely partner, Leslie (Jennifer Lopez), a savvy insider, who’s short on cash, but big on looks, smarts and ambition. Together, they devise a plan to hijack the score, take everyone down and get away clean. The film hits cinemas on January 25th 2013.
