Riddick Teaser – First look at the Vin Diesel sequel

23rd March 2013 By Tim Isaac

After The Chronicles Of Riddick bombed, most thought that would be the last we’d see of the character of Riddick, but Vin Diesel and director David Twohy really love the character and so have stripped back the budget for a third movie featuring the character. Now the first, very brief, teaser is here.

And it is very brief, just 22 seconds, but the images it shows look pretty cool.

Here’s the plot synopsis: ‘In the film, the infamous Riddick has been left for dead on a sun-scorched planet that appears to be lifeless. Soon, however, he finds himself fighting for survival against alien predators more lethal than any human he’s encountered. The only way off is for Riddick to activate an emergency beacon and alert mercenaries who rapidly descend to the planet in search of their bounty.

‘The first ship to arrive carries a new breed of merc, more lethal and violent, while the second is captained by a man whose pursuit of Riddick is more personal. With time running out and a storm on the horizon that no one could survive, his hunters won’t leave the planet without Riddick’s head as their trophy.’

It should hit cinemas this autumn.

New Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer – It’s not a good day for the Enterprise

21st March 2013 By Tim Isaac

Paramount has released a new trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness. Now an action-packed new teaser trailer has been released, featuring some fresh footage, with Kirk zooming all over space and wanting to take on Benedict Cumberbatch’s incredibly destructive villain. Plus the Enterprise crashes!

There’s also a few things in there that will certainly reignite speculation that Cumberbatch is actually playing Khan.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘It says, ‘In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness. When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

‘With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.’
The film hits UK cinemas on May 9th, 2013, with a US release on May 17th.

First Video Posted From The Godzilla Set – Director Gareth Edwards says hello

20th March 2013 By Tim Isaac

Yesterday it was announced that Godzilla had started shooting, and to prove it, director Gareth Edwards has posted a short video from the set, to say they’ve just finished the first shot, which appears to take place in a Japanese airport.

He certainly doesn’t reveal much about the movie, although it has been promised this will be a far cry from 1998’s Roland Emmerich take on Godzilla, instead sticking closer to the Japanese original, but with a modern, more grounded feel.

It’ll be in cinemas summer 2014.
