A Single Shot Trailer – Sam Rockwell turns master poacher

3rd April 2013 By Tim Isaac

Sam Rockwell is moving away from comedy with A Single Shot, a rather move dramatic role than we’re used to from him.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘A Single Shot brings together a wealth of indie stalwarts, including Sam Rockwell, William H. Macy, Melissa Leo and Jeffrey Wright, to paint a tense portrait of John Moon, a man attempting to win back his estranged family while desperately outrunning an accidental crime. Director David M. Rosenthal returns to the Festival with this ominously atmospheric and suspenseful backwoods tale of circumstance, based on Matthew F. Jones’s 1996 novel. After the loss of his family farm, John Moon is a desperate man. A master hunter, his ability to poach game in-season or out is the only thing that stands between him and the soup kitchen line. Until Moon trespasses on the wrong land, hears a rustle in the brush, and fires a single fateful shot.’

The film is due to screen soon at the Tribeca Film Festival and will hopefully arrive in cinemas soon.

New Greetings From Tim Buckley Trailer – Penn Badgley takes on Jeff Buckley

2nd April 2013 By Tim Isaac

When it was announced that Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley was set to acts and sings as the late musician Jeff Buckley in Greetings From Tim Buckley, a lot of people thought this was the worst casting anyone had ever heard of. However the first trailer showed he might actually be a very good choice.

Now a new promo has arrived, backing up the idea Badgley could be very good in this film, which is due out in the US later this month and will hopefully reach the UK later this year.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In 1991, a young Jeff Buckley rehearses for his public singing debut at a Brooklyn tribute show for his father, the late folk singer Tim Buckley. Struggling with the legacy of a man he barely knew, Jeff forms a friendship with an enigmatic young woman (Imogen Poots) working at the show and begins to discover the powerful potential of his own musical voice. Greetings from Tim Buckley is filled with stirring musical performances and the memorable songs of a father and son who were each among the most beloved singer/songwriters of their respective generations. A presentation of Focus World, the alternative distribution label of Focus Features, and Tribeca Film.’

Fresh This Is The End Red-Band Trailer – More fun from Seth Rogen’s star-studded directorial debut

2nd April 2013 By Tim Isaac

It’s tough to tell whether This Is The End is going to be as fun as it looks, or if the whole thing will be a giant in-joke that it’ll be tough for general audiences to get into.

The likes of James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson play versions of themselves in the film, who are trapped in Franco’s house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

As this new red band trailer reveals, there’s also room for Emma Watson, and Hermione is going to steal all their shit! The movie arrives in cinemas this June.

Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson are back, and this time Percy Jackson, the son of Poseidon, continues his epic journey to fulfill his destiny, as he teams with his demigod friends to retrieve the Golden Fleece, which has the power to save their home and training ground, Camp Half-Blood.
