The Spectacular Now Trailer – Miles Teller & Shailene Woodley fall in love

20th June 2013 By Tim Isaac

The Spectacular Now has been getting pretty good reviews after festival screenings, and now we get our first look with a trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Sutter Keely (Miles Teller) lives in the now. It’s a good place for him. A high school senior, charming and self-possessed, he’s the life of the party, loves his job at a men’s clothing store, and has no plans for the future. A budding alcoholic, he’s never far from his supersized, whisky-fortified thirst-master cup. But after being dumped by his girlfriend, Sutter gets drunk and wakes up on a lawn with Aimee Finicky (Shailene Woodley) hovering over him. She’s different: the “nice girl” who reads science fiction and doesn’t have a boyfriend. While Amy has dreams of a future, Sutter lives in the impressive delusion of a spectacular now, yet somehow, they’re drawn together.’

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Bob Odenkirk, Kyle Chandler, and Brie Larson also star.

Three Flavour Cornetto Trilogy Trailer – Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World’s End

20th June 2013 By Tim Isaac

Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and director Edgar Wright are back together in cinemas soon with The World’s End, and to celebrate, Universal have teamed up with UK theatre chains Vue Cinemas to host the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy screenings!

Starting on July 18th at 7.30pm, audiences will be treated to special screenings of Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, and finally a first viewing of The World’s End at midnight. This exciting event will be taking place at selected Vue cinemas across the UK. And to remind us of the fun, they’ve released a special trailer promoting all three movies.

Here’s the synopsis for The World’s End: ‘Director Edgar Wright and actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost reunite for a third film following the successes “Shaun of the Dead” (2004) and “Hot Fuzz” (2007). In “The World’s End,” 20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by Gary King (Simon Pegg), a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub – The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realise the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.’

Free Birds Trailer – Owen Wilson & Woody Harrelson turn time-traveling turkeys

20th June 2013 By Tim Isaac

Turkeys aren’t well-known for their time-traveling abilities, but that’s being remedied with Free Birds, a new CG animated movie from Horton Hears A Who! helmer Jimmy Hayward.

The film features the voices of Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson as two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks who must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history – and get turkey off the Thanksgiving menu for good.

Amy Poehler, Dan Fogler, Lesley Nicol, George Takei, Colm Meaney, Keith David, Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo, and Dwight Howard also provide voices for the film. It won’t be too surprising to hear this is getting a November 1st pre-Thanksgiving release in the US, although no UK date is set yet.

The Lego Movie Trailer – Looking more fun than you might think

19th June 2013 By Tim Isaac

The Lego Movie may not arrive in cinemas until next year, but you can understand why they want to release a trailer nice and early, as a lot of people will be wondering whether a film filled with little yellow Lego people can work. Well, on the evidence of this, it could be a lot of fun, and it all shows off the various franchises that will show up, including DC superheroes, NBA basketball teams and Ninja Turtles.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The LEGO Movie follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. Emmet (Chris Pratt) is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which he is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

‘Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Nick Offerman and Alison Brie join Chris Pratt to form the cast of the first-ever full length theatrical LEGO movie, the greatest movie ever assembled, which is set to hit cinemas in 14th February 2014.’

New Anchorman: The Legend Continues Trailer – Plus a new poster for the much-anticipated movie

19th June 2013 By Tim Isaac

It was in development for years, but now Anchorman 2 is really coming, with the likes of Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, and Christina Applegate are all reprising their Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy roles, with Adam McKay directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ferrell.

The film takes place in the late 1970s during the advent of the 24-hour news cycle. Needless to say, the Action 4 News team has trouble adapting to this news format. It also sees Ron heading off on a trip to New York.

Cameos from the likes of Harrison Ford, James Marsden, Kristen Wiig, Jim Carrey, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Vince Vaughn and loads more are also promised to show up. The film is due out at Christmas.

Frozen Teaser Trailer – First look at Disney’s take on The Snow Queen

18th June 2013 By Tim Isaac

Frozen hits cinema on December 6th, 2013, and now Disney has released our first look at the film in the form of a trailer (and five images), which suggest they’re going for a look very similar to Tangled.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind “Tangled” and “Wreck-It Ralph,” presents “Frozen,” a stunning big-screen comedy adventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.

‘The film is directed by Chris Buck (“Tarzan,” “Surf’s Up”) and Jennifer Lee (screenwriter, “Wreck-It Ralph”), and produced by Peter Del Vecho (“Winnie the Pooh,” “The Princess and the Frog”). Featuring music from Tony® winner Robert Lopez (“The Book of Mormon,” “Avenue Q”) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (“In Transit”), “Frozen” is in UK cinemas in 3D on December 6, 2013’
