Lone Survivor Trailer – Mark Wahlberg is under fire in Afghanistan

31st July 2013 By Tim Isaac

Lone Survivor looks like it might be an interesting one and Universal obviously agree, as they slotted it in for a prime Oscar push, with a limited US release around Christmas before it goes wide next January. Now we get our first look at the Peter Berg movie, which stars Mark Wahlberg, Ben Foster, Taylor Kitsch, Eric Bana, Emile Hirsch and Alexander Ludwig.

The movie is based on a failed 2005 mission, Operation Red Wing, which tasked four members of SEAL Team 10 (Wahlberg, Hirsch, Foster, Kitsch) to kill Taliban leader Ahmad Shah. However they were quickly compromised and came under attack. As the title suggests, it didn’t go well.

Take a look at the trailer below.

2 Guns Red Band Trailer – Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg look hard

30th July 2013 By Tim Isaac

Mark Wahlberg reteams with Contraband director Baltasar Kormakur, and adds Denzel Washington into the mix for 2 Gun, which hits cinemas on August 2nd in the US and August 16th in the UK. Now a new red band trailer has arrives to show us what we can expect from the movie.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Academy Award® winner Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg lead an all-star cast in “2 Guns,” an explosive action film that tracks two operatives from competing bureaus who are forced on the run together. But there is a big problem with their unique alliance: Neither knows that the other is an undercover federal agent.

‘For the past 12 months, DEA agent Bobby Trench (Washington) and U.S. naval intelligence officer Marcus Stigman (Wahlberg) have been reluctantly attached at the hip. Working undercover as members of a narcotics syndicate, each man distrusts his partner as much as the criminals they have both been tasked to take down.

‘When their attempt to infiltrate a Mexican drug cartel and recover millions goes haywire, Trench and Stigman are suddenly disavowed by their superiors. Now that everyone wants them in jail or in the ground, the only person they can count on is the other. Unfortunately for their pursuers, when good guys spend years pretending to be bad, they pick up a few tricks along the way.’

The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty Trailer – The Ben Stiller movie is looking gorgeous

30th July 2013 By Tim Isaac

After it had been in development for years, it’s fair to say that no one was holding out too much hope for The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty. However it finally went into production with Ben Stiller directing and starring. Then a few weeks ago the interest went through the roof when a lucky few were treated to a few scenes from the movie, which met a truly rapturous response and even had people talking about Oscars.

Now we can get a look ourselves with the first trailer, which does look absolutely gorgeous.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Ben Stiller directs and stars in THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY, James Thurber’s classic story of a day-dreamer who escapes his anonymous life by disappearing into a world of fantasies filled with heroism, romance and action. When his job along with that of his co-worker (Kristen Wiig) are threatened, Walter takes action in the real world embarking on a global journey that turns into an adventure more extraordinary than anything he could have ever imagined.’

It’ll be in cinemas this Christmas.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past Viral Video – Meet the Sentinels and Peter Dinklage’s Trask Industries

30th July 2013 By Tim Isaac

X-Men: Days Of Future Past isn’t out until May 23rd, 2013, but Fox is starting the hype early, hoping plenty of people will be getting excited about the old X-Men teaming up with the First Class cast. Now we’ve got a viral video, introducing us to Trask Industries, run by Peter Dinklage’s Bolivar Trask, and the Sentinels, robots that ‘protect’ the near future from mutants, who’ve been rounded up and locked away.

The only way to stop then if for Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen to send Hugh Jackman into the past (or at least their X-Men characters will) so that he can try and convince the likes of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender that they must prevent an assassination and in doing so prevent the rise of the sentinels.

You can also see a few pics of the Sentinels from the Trask Industries website above and below.

New Elysium Clip – Matt Damon is becoming bionic

29th July 2013 By Tim Isaac

Much of the promotion of Elysium has centred on Matt Damon wearing a strange suit of armour that allows him to do things he normally couldn’t. Now a new clip has emerged letting us see Damon’s character just after he’s got that armour, is getting used to have the tech attached to him.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.’

Neill Blomkamp’s film hits US cinemas on August 9th and the UK on August 26th.
