Normally when a movie tries to make out it’s a once in a generation event, it’s an indication that the film itself will be a bit underwhelming. At least Hardcore genuinely is something a little bit different. Actually forget that, it’s not that different for videogame fans, as this is an entire movie show from a first-person perspective, with visuals that look like they’ve dropped out of an extremely violent game.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘You remember nothing. Mainly because youve just been brought back from the dead by your wife (Haley Bennett). She tells you that your name is Henry and congratulations, youre now a cyborg. 5 minutes later, your wife has been kidnapped and you should probably go get her back. Whos got her? His names Akan (Danila Kozlovsky), hes just a psychotic megalomaniac with telekinetic powers, and a never-ending army of mercenaries. Youre also in an unfamiliar city of Moscow, Russia and everyone wants you dead. Everyone, except for a mysterious British fellow called Jimmy (Sharlto Copley). He might be on your side. Good luck Henry. Youre very much likely to need it ’
The movie looks completely nuts and if you’re squeamish about violence then don’t press play below, but otherwise take a look and see what you thing.
