Acclaimed documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) has been following the One Direction Boys around for This Is Us.
As you probably know, One Direction Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson were discovered by Simon Cowell on the The X Factor in 2010. The band quickly gained a following to become one of the competitions all-time most popular acts, finishing in the final three and garnering a gigantic and loyal fanbase along the way. In March 2012, One Directions debut album, Up All Night, made US history, as it was the first time a UK groups debut album entered the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at No. 1. The band has now sold over 29 million records worldwide.
There’s a lot of love out there for the boys, which Sony Pictures is hoping will follow-them into cinemas for this mix of concert footage and behind-the-scenes look at the lads’ lives. It’ll hit UK cinemas on August 29th.
