She found fame and won an Oscar for her screenplay for Juno, and while Diablo Cody’s follow-up, Jennifer’s Body, wasn’t as successful, The United States Of Tara (which she created) is doing well on TV, and she’s still a name to conjure with. Now Cody is planning to make her directorial debut, with Variety reporting that she’ll helm Lamb Of God, which she also wrote.
The movie is a comedy that follows a young conservative religious woman who loses her faith after a plane crash, and decides to go to Las Vegas to live the life of a sinner, and on her journey finds her way back to her faith. Cody also blogged a little about the movies, saying ‘Its about a woman who survives a plane crash and loses her faith in everything. (Comedy gold!) Seriously though, its not the cynicism-fest implied by the log line. Its a nice Christmas story.’
The movie is on the fast-track, so expecting casting decisions and the announcement of a shooting start date soon.
