New Christopher Robin Trailer – Disney brings Winnie The Pooh to live-action life

10th July 2018 By Tim Isaac

The recent Goodbye Christopher Robin took a traditional biopic look at Winnie The Pooh creator AA Milne. Well, Disney has a slightly different take on the life of Milne’s son, Christopher Robin, by completely fictionalising it and turning Winnie into a CG character in a live-action world.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In the heartwarming live action adventure, the young boy who embarked on countless adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his band of spirited and lovable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.

‘Disney’s “Christopher Robin” is directed by Marc Forster from a screenplay by Alex Ross Perry and Allison Schroeder and a story by Perry based on characters created by A.A. Milne. The producers are Brigham Taylor and Kristin Burr with Renée Wolfe and Jeremy Johns serving as executive producers. The film stars Ewan McGregor as Christopher Robin; Hayley Atwell as his wife Evelyn; Bronte Carmichael as his daughter Madeline; and Mark Gatiss as Keith Winslow, Robin’s boss. The film also features the voices of: Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh; Chris O’Dowd as Tigger; Brad Garrett as Eeyore; Toby Jones as Owl; Nick Mohammed as Piglet; Peter Capaldi as Rabbit; and Sophie Okonedo as Kanga.’

The film is due in cinemas in August. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

Christopher Robin Trailer – Disney brings Winnie The Pooh to live-action life

6th March 2018 By Tim Isaac

The recent Goodbye Christopher Robin took a traditional biopic look at Winnie The Pooh creator AA Milne. Well, Disney has a slightly different take on the life of Milne’s son, Christopher Robin, by completely fictionalising it and turning Winnie into a CG character in a live-action world. Even after watching the first teaser trailer it seems like a bizarre idea, but it might just work.

Ewan McGregor Will Be Grown-Up Christopher Robin In Winnie the Pooh Sequel

27th April 2017 By Tim Isaac

As well as live-action movies based on their feature-length animated classics, Disney has been working on a live-action Winnie The Pooh movie. Now that film has found its Christopher Robin, with THR reporting that Ewan McGregor is in talks to star.

As you may have guessed, this is planned as a movie about Chrisopher Robin as an adult, having left the hundred-acre wood behind many years before. He is now an adult who ‘has lost his sense of imagination and is a businessman focused on work and success.’ As you might expect, things begin to change when Winnie, Piglet and co. come back into his life.

Marc Forster (World War Z, Finding Neverland) is set to direct, with Disney having just brought in Hidden Figures’ Allison Schroeder to rewrite the script. It’s not known yet when we might get to see the movie.

T2 Trainspotting Trailer – The original cast return for the long-awaited sequel

5th November 2016 By Tim Isaac

t2-trainspotting-quad-poster-slideEver since the success of Trainspotting in 1996 we’ve been promised a sequel, although we’ve always known we’d have to wait until the actors were a older. Now it’s finally on its way and to get us excited we’ve got a teaser which recreates a classic scene from the first movie.

There’s not much info on the plot, but we do know it will reunite Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner and Robert Carlyle are all back, as Renton, Sick Boy, Spud, and Begbie, with Danny Boyle once more directing. While Irvine Welsh wrote a follow-up novel, Filth, it’s not believed John Hodges script will be totally faithful to that story.

The film is currently due out in the UK on January January 27th. Take a look at the teaser below. [Read more…]

Jane Got A Gun (Blu-ray Review)

21st August 2016 By Tim Isaac

jane-got-a-gun-slideStarring: Natalie Portman, Joel Edgerton, Ewan McGregor, Boyd Holbrook
Directed By: Gavin O’Connor
Running Time: 98 mins
BBFC Certificate: 15
UK Release Date: August 22nd 2016

Our Score

Jane Got A Gun has had a few problems. That included a revolving door of actors getting involved and then backing out (including the likes of Jude Law, Michael Fassbender and Bradley Cooper), and director Lynn Ramsey leaving the production so late in the day that they didn’t know she was gone until she didn’t turn up for the first day of shooting. She was quickly replaced by Gavin O’Connor, who didn’t have a huge amount of time to prepare, which may explain why Jane Got A Gun isn’t all it might have been.

Jane Hammond (Natalie Portman) is a woman living on the rough, tough, wild west frontier of 19th Century America. Her husband (Roland Emmerich) returns home riddled with bullets after a confrontation with the violent Bishop Boys gang, led by the brutal John (Ewan McGregor). They know the Boys are going to want to track him down to finish off the job. Jane decides she needs help and so decides to enlist her ex-lover, Dan Frost (Joel Edgerton). [Read more…]
