The MTV Movie Awards offered the chance to get our first peak at a couple of highly anticipated new movie, most notably Kong: Skull Island and Luce Besson’s Valerian & The City Of A Thousand Planets.
Oscar-winner Brie Larson takes us to the set of Kong: Skull Island, which focuses on the action and excitement of the film. Tom Hiddleston and Corey Hawkins are also on hand talk up the movie, letting us know that it’s set during the Vietnam era and see a group of adventurers and military getting far more than they bargained for when they arrive on the uncharted Skull Island. It confirms that King Kong will be a bit part of the story, but also that it completely reboots things, as the giant gorilla was never taken to New York and isn’t the last of his kind.
Valerian & The City Of A Thousand Planets meanwhile is based on a classic novel, which as is pointed out in the footage below, helped inspire the likes of Star Wars and Avatar. Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne star in Luc Besson’s film version, which offers up a behind-the-scenes look in the footage below. In the original graphic novel, Valérian and Laureline are 28th Century agents working for the Galaxity organization, whose adventures take them across time and space.
