If you were wondering whether, for his last Transformers movie, Michael Bay would make a small, arthouse-style drama, this trailer is here to says that no, you were a moron to think that. Instead – and despite Bay promising changes – it’s going to be as big, bombastic and literally explosive as previous instalments.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).
There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.’
The movie will be in cinemas in June. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]
Michael Bay said he was only directing three Transformers films, but then he agreed to make a fourth. That though, he said, would definitely be the last, before he signed on to help a fifth one. However, this time he seems to really mean it, as alongside The Last Knight’s Super Bowl spot, Bay has released a statement underlining that this will be his final time as director (although he does leave the door open).
The first trailer for Collide arrived back last May, but there’s still no UK release date announced for the movie, which stars Nicholas Hoult and Anthony Hopkins. However, with a US release due in just over a month, a new promo has arrived, which you can watch below.
Is there really much point us writing anything about a new Transformers movie? By now everyone who even vaguely cares knows exactly what they’re going to get. That said, they have promised this one will be a little different, with redesigned Autobot and Decepticons, but with Michael Bay still at the helm, it’s still gonna be pretty much what we expected.
Shooting on Transformers: The Last Knight is kicking off just about now, but it appears there’s still some room in the cast, as the official Transformers Twitter account has tweeted that they’ve added a real Knight, Sir Anthony Hopkins. However, what they haven’t said it what the Welsh Oscar-winner will be doing in them movie.
Synopsis: ‘After a heist goes terribly wrong, Casey Stein (Nicholas Hoult) finds himself on the run from a ruthless gang headed by mob boss Hagen (Anthony Hopkins). Now Casey has precious cargo that belongs to Hagen, who will stop at nothing to retrieve it. Left with no choice, Casey calls his former employer and drug smuggler Geran (Ben Kingsley) to protect his long-time girlfriend Juliette before Hagen gets his hands on her. Casey sets out on an adrenaline-fueled car chase on the German highways to save the love of his life before it’s too late.’
