New Ocean’s Eight Trailer – Sandra Bullock leads a star-studded female team on a heist

15th April 2018 By Tim Isaac

Synopsis: ‘Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter team up in the action adventure Ocean’s 8. Five years, eight months, 12 days…and counting. That’s how long Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) has been devising the biggest heist of her life.

‘She knows what it’s going to take—a team of the best in their field, starting with her partner-in-crime Lou Miller (Cate Blanchett). Together, they recruit a crew of specialists: jeweller Amita (Kaling); street con Constance (Awkwafina); expert fence Tammy (Paulson); hacker Nine Ball (Rihanna); and fashion designer Rose (Bonham Carter). The target is a cool $150 million dollars in diamonds—diamonds that will be around the neck of world-famous actress Daphne Kluger (Hathaway), who will be centerstage at the event of the year, the Met Gala.

‘The plan is rock solid, but everything will need to be flawless if the team is going to get in and get away with the ice. All in plain sight. “Ocean’s 8” also stars James Corden as an insurance investigator trying to put the pieces together, and Richard Armitage as Kluger’s unwitting date at the Gala.’

The film hits UK cinemas on 22nd June. Take a look at the new trailer below. [Read more…]

Anne Hathaway Is Thinking Of Replacing Amy Schumer In The Barbie Movie

26th July 2017 By Tim Isaac

When it was first announced, many people thought a movie about Barbie sounded like a hideous idea. However, the fact it had Amy Schumer attached and a more feminist plot that you might have expected made people a little more interested. However, then Schumer dropped out.

Now though, a replacement may have been found, and it may be a smart choice. Deadline reports that Anne Hathaway is circling the role, and may well sign on.

If she does take the role, ‘Hathaway would play a character who lives in Barbieland, where she gets kicked out basically because she’s not perfect enough, is a bit eccentric and doesn’t quite fit the mold. She then goes on an adventure in the real world, and by the time she returns to Barbieland to save it, she has gained the realization that perfection comes on the inside, not the outside, and that the key to happiness is belief in oneself, free of the obligation to adhere to some unattainable standard of perfection.’

Alethea Jones (Lemonade Stand) is in talks to direct the movie, which is being planned as a PG rated family adventure. The studio is also apparently still eyeing a June 2018 release.

Colossal Trailer – Anne Hathaway discovers she’s mentally linked to a monster attack

18th February 2017 By Tim Isaac

When Colossal debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival, it got a bit of a mixed reaction, partially because it seemed some critics didn’t quite know what to make of it. Now a trailer has arrived, which suggests that perhaps they can’t be blamed for being a little perplexed, as it looks like a strange one.

Anne Hathaway plays Gloria, an ordinary woman who, after losing her job and her fiancé (Dan Stevens), decides to leave her life in New York to move back to her hometown. But when news reports surface that a giant lizard is destroying Seoul, Gloria comes to realise that she is connected to these far-off events via the power of her mind. In order to prevent further destruction, Gloria needs to determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.

And as this trailer shows, that’s when it gets really bizarre.

Jason Sudeikis also stars, with Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes) directing. Take a look below. [Read more…]

First Look At Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett & The Women Of Ocean’s 8

30th January 2017 By Tim Isaac

The Ocean’s franchise is coming back, but George Clooney, Brad Pitt and co. won’t be around this turn (although Matt Damon will show up for a cameo), with the action moving across to an octet of women who are getting into the heist game. The movie is now shooting and the first image from the film has been released, as you can see above.

It has to be said though, the ladies don’t look like they’re having a lot of fun in the pic.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘The tide has turned and it’s a whole new “Ocean’s” when eight women plan and execute a heist in New York. Oscar winner Sandra Bullock stars in the title role, alongside Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, with Rihanna and Oscar nominee Helena Bonham Carter.  Oscar-nominated filmmaker Gary Ross is directing.

‘The film is set for release in Summer 2018 and will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.’

Anne Hathaway May Join Rebel Wilson In Female Dirty Rotten Scoundrels Remake

22nd January 2017 By Tim Isaac

Last August, it was revealed that Rebel Wilson was attached to a gender-swapped remake of the 1998 Steve Martin and Michael Caine comedy. Now it’s been reported that they may have found the person to play opposite Rebel, as Anne Hathaway is in talks for the role according to THR.

In the original movie, Caine and Martin played con artists, one unsophisticated and one suave, who join forces on the French Riviera to take down a big target, before turning on one another with a bet that will see the loser having to leave town. The remake is apparently titled Nasty Women, with a script by Jac Schaeffer. The basic idea will stay the same, with the con artists being socially mismatched, but this time they’ll be teaming up to con a tech prodigy out of his money.

No director or release date has been announced as yet. Hathaway must enjoy the con artist world, as she’s currently shooting Ocean’s 8, which sees George Clooney and co. replaced by a group of women going off on a heist.
