Help Us Muse By Adding To Our Review Database – Whilst everyone is more than welcome to start their own film blog, if you think you’ve got what it takes to write for the main site we’d love to hear from you. There are 1,000s of films, DVDs and Blu-rays out there and we wish we had time to review every single one of them! However, as we simply don’t have time, we’re offering you the opportunity to help us expand our review database and get your work published at the same time.

All you need to do is find a DVD or Blu-ray which you own, but which isn’t reviewed on our database (just search the site to find out). Then write us a review, talking about the film, the special features, and particularly for Blu-ray titles, the picture and sound quality. Reviews should be 300-500 words and written in a friendly and informative style. Just take a look at other reviews on the site to see what we’re looking for.

When you’re happy with your review, the next step is to send it to us. We’ll evaluate it and if we believe it’s good enough to go on the site, your review will then be added to our database as the official Movie Muser review of that title, and other people will be able read it and start adding their own reviews and comments underneath yours. We can’t promise to publish every review sent to us, as strict quality and style standards  will apply, however this is a great opportunity for those looking to get their work published, or even if you just fancy seeing whether you’ve got what it takes to be a movie reviewer!

Just send your review to: iwannamuse@musermedia.co.uk

Please note: Do not send us speculative reviews of NEW DVD, Blu-ray and cinema releases. This opportunity is only for UK DVD and Blu-ray titles already released which aren’t featured on our database. If you’d like to write reviews of new titles or other content for the site, see below.

Other Opportunities – As well as writing reviews of older titles, we’re also always on the lookout for freelance journalist to do reviews of new cinema, DVD and Blu-ray releases, as well conduct interviews and write features for the site. At the moment, all work done for the Movie Muser website is unpaid and we cannot offer remuneration for any reviews, features or other content that you write and which we agree to feature on the site.

If you are interested in writing reviews of new releases, or putting together features or interviews for the site, your first action should be to e-mail us with a covering letter telling us why you think you’ve got what it takes and what you’d be willing to do. You should also attach your CV, highlighting any relevant writing/film experience, as well as including some examples of your writing (preferably film/DVD reviews). If we believe you’d be a good fit for the site, we’ll then contact you, explaining how things work and to discuss what you might be able to do.

We look forward to hearing from you.

E-mail your covering letter, CV and writing examples to: iwannamuse@moviemuser.co.uk
