Justice League Sizzle Reel – Take your first look at the superhero team-up

24th July 2016 By Tim Isaac

justic-league-sizzle-reelDespite the somewhat muted response to Batman v Superman, plans are still going full steam ahead for a Justice League movie, and to get fanboys excited, Warner Bros. unveiled a sizzle reel at Comic-Com. Luckily for us, they’ve put it on the internet so we can all take a look.

The footage gives us a look at Batman (Ben Affleck), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and more, as they start to team up to take on threats to humanity. There’s no Clark Kent, but anyone who’s seen Batman v Superman will know why they’re hiding him, despite the fact he will be in the movie.

Take a look at the Sizzle Reel below. The movie will be in cinemas November 2017. [Read more…]

J.K. Simmons Joins Justice League As Commissioner Gordon

8th March 2016 By Tim Isaac

jk-simmonsIt looks like Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons is swapping teams, as after playing Daily Planet editor J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi’s Spider-man movies, he’s hopping across to the DC stable to play Commissioner Gordon in the Justice League movies, according to THR.

There’s not too much info on how the policeman will figure into the plot of the movie, but Simmons will join the likes of Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), the Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and his presence also suggest Gotham City will feature in the movie. The role will see the actor head to the Justice League: Part One set in mid-April, shortly after the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

Zack Snyder is directing the movie, which is due for release in November 2017, with Justice League: Part Two pencilled in for July 2019. It’s not known is Simmons is likely to be seen in any of the other planned DC movies.

Amber-HeardWhile it’s still a couple of months until Batman v Superman hits cinemas, Warner & DC is busy at work ensuring they can expand their universe with numerous other movies over the next few years. Suicide Squad arrives this summer, then Wonder Woman in June 2017 and Justice League: Part 1 out November 2017.

However, before we get Part 2 pf Justice League, The Flash and Aquaman will get their own movies in 2018. Now Jason Momoa’s Aquaman may have find his leading lady, who will make her first appear and in the planned Justice League movie. The woman in question is Amber Heard, who THR reports in talks for the part.

If she does take the role she’ll be ‘Mera, the love interest of Aquaman and eventual queen of Atlantis. First appearing in 1963, the character’s powers include the ability to control and even solidify water.’ Heard should be on set this summer for Justice League: Part 1, then back again for Aquaman next year.
