The Mule Trailer – Clint Eastwood is an octogenarian drug runner opposite Bradley Cooper

7th October 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Clint Eastwood hasn’t starred in a film since 2012’s Trouble With The Curve, and hasn’t appeared in a movie he’s also directed since 2008’s Gran Torino. However, now he’s back pulling double duty in The Mule.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Clint Eastwood stars as Earl Stone, a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive.  Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he’s just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel.  He does well—so well, in fact, that his cargo increases exponentially, and Earl is assigned a handler.  But he isn’t the only one keeping tabs on Earl; the mysterious new drug mule has also hit the radar of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates.  And even as his money problems become a thing of the past, Earl’s past mistakes start to weigh heavily on him, and it’s uncertain if he’ll have time to right those wrongs before law enforcement, or the cartel’s enforcers, catch up to him.’

The Mule is in UK Cinemas January 2019. Bradley Cooper, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Peña, Dianne Wiest and Andy Garcia also star. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

Our Score

Clint Eastwood has always had the disposition as the outsider, the outlaw who doesn’t play by the rules and the one who would fight for the people against those in authority, especially if that power is abused.

He continues this theme within his current directorial effort, Sully, which tells the remarkable true story of how an airline pilot managed to safely land a commercial airplane in the Hudson River in 2009, saving all 115 aboard and becoming a hero.

I remember hearing about this on the news and as this film points out, it was a miracle, especially in a post 9/11 world. [Read more…]

Sully Trailer – Tom Hanks is the Hero On The Hudson for Clint Eastwood

30th June 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

sully-poster-slideCaptain Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger is famous for something that took less than 10 minutes – crash landing the airplane he was piloting into New York’s Hudson, an miraculously saving all the passengers. That might not sound like enough for an entire movie, but there will be plenty more to it in Clint Eastwood’s Sully, which has just released its first trailer.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘From Oscar-winning director Clint Eastwood (“American Sniper,” “Million Dollar Baby”) comes drama “Sully: Miracle On The Hudson”, starring Oscar winner Tom Hanks (“Bridge of Spies,” “Forrest Gump”) as Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger.

‘On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the “Miracle on the Hudson” when Captain “Sully” Sullenberger glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career.

‘“Sully” also stars Aaron Eckhart (“Olympus Has Fallen,” “The Dark Knight”) as Sully’s co-pilot, Jeff Skiles, and Oscar nominee Laura Linney (“The Savages,” “Kinsey,” Showtime’s “The Big C”) as Sully’s wife, Lorraine Sullenberger.’

The film is set for an Oscar-friendly December release. [Read more…]
