Alien: Covenant Cast & Crew Pic Shows Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston & First Look At James Franco

21st February 2017 By Tim Isaac

Prometheus may have resulted in some grumbling from critics and audiences, but it was certainly a success at the box office, grossing more than $400 million. It meant that Fox wanted another movie, but they also wanted a few changes, so while Michael Fassbender got to stay, most of the other elements have been jettisoned in favour of what’s said will be a more ‘traditional’ alien movie.

A new cast & crew pic has arrived, which gives us a fresh look at Fassbender, the new lead, Katherine Waterston, as well as our first official view of James Franco in the film, who is rumoured to be playing Ellen Ripley’s father.

Here’s the brief synopsis: ‘Set as the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus, Alien: Covenant connects directly to Ridley Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. It begins with the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy. There, the crew discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.’

The movie will be in cinemas next May.

18th February 2017 By Tim Isaac

Never one to do the conventional thing, director Terrence Malick shot Song To Song (until recently known as Weightless) back to back with Knight Of Cups. While that movie came out in 2015, Malick decided to work and rework Song To Song, while also working on his documentary Voyage Of Life.

Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara, Michael Fassbender, and Natalie Portman play the central roles, with Benicio del Toro, Haley Bennett, Clifton Collins Jr., Holly Hunter, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, and Angela Bettis also making appearances. It’s known the likes of Trevante Rhodes and Boyd Holdbrook also filmed scenes, although a no one has seen the finished version yet, it’s not clear if they’ll make the final cut.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In this modern love story set against the Austin, Texas music scene, two entangled couples — struggling songwriters Faye (Rooney Mara) and BV (Ryan Gosling), and music mogul Cook (Michael Fassbender) and the waitress whom he ensnares (Natalie Portman) — chase success through a rock ‘n’ roll landscape of seduction and betrayal.’ Take a look at the trailer below. First Look At Michael Fassbender In Jo Nesbo’s The Snowman

2nd February 2017 By Tim Isaac

Author Jo Nesbo has sold millions of novels, but while his works have been made into Scandinavian TV shows and movies, he’s only just now making the jump to Hollywood. It’s with an adaptation The Snowman, featuring Nesbo most popular character, detective Harry Hole.

Michael Fassbender is set to play the main character, and now the first picture of him in the role has arrived via Total Film.

Joe Nesbo’s novel follows Oslo detective Hole, a loose cannon who is investigating the disappearance of a woman, whose pink scarf is found wrapped around a sinister-looking snowman. The hope is that this will be the start of a franchise, as Hole has been part of numerous Nesbo books. Rebecca Ferguson, J.K. Simmons, Chloë Sevigny, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Val Kilmer, James D’Arcy, and Toby Jones also star, with Tomas Alfredson directing. The film is due out in November.

Alien: Covenant Trailer – The xenomorphs are back and ready to kill

26th December 2016 By Tim Isaac

Following the muted and somewhat confused reaction to Prometheus, 20th Century Fox has been keen to show the follow-up will be something more familiar. The Alien name has returned, the promise has been made that the better known elements of the franchise will be back, and now the first trailer is here to back that up.

There’s a bit of gore, chestbursters, eggs, people being terrified in spaceships, and, of course, the aliens themselves.
