John Wick: Chapter 2 Trailer – Keanu Reeves is ready to kick ass once more!

19th December 2016 By Tim Isaac

John Wick got a lot of praise, not necessarily for its plot, but for its almost comic book style and for the quality of its action. Indeed, it reminded many of why pure action has always been so popular. Now it’s coming back for a sequel.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘In this next chapter following the 2014 hit, legendary hitman John Wick [Keanu Reeves] is forced back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.’

Laurence Fishburne, Ruby Rose, John Leguizamo and Ian McShane also star, with Chad Stahelski directing. Take a look at the trailer below. [Read more…]

The Whole Truth Trailer – Keanu Reeves tries to keep Renée Zellweger’s son out of jail

21st September 2016 By Tim Isaac

whole-truth-slideKeanu Reeves has been in dark action/thriller mode for the last couple of years, but now he’s heading into the courtroom to play a lawyer. The film also features Renée Zellweger, showing she’s now just returning to the world of movies for Bridget Jones movies.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Defense attorney Richard Ramsay (Keanu Reeves) takes on a personal case when he swears to his widowed friend, Loretta Lassiter (Renée Zellweger), that he will keep her son Mike (Gabriel Basso) out of prison. Charged with murdering his father, Mike initially confesses to the crime. But as the trial proceeds, chilling evidence about the kind of man that Boone Lassiter (Jim Belushi) really was comes to light. While Ramsay uses the evidence to get his client acquitted, his new colleague Janelle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) tries to dig deeper – and begins to realize that the whole truth is something she alone can uncover.’

The film will be out in the US in October. No UK date is currently set. [Read more…]

The Neon Demon Trailer – Nicolas Winding Refn teams with Elle Fanning, Jena Malone, Keanu Reeves & Christina Hendricks

14th April 2016 By Tim Isaac

neon-demon-pic1Nicolas Winding Refn has been working on Neon Demon for several years, but he’s been keeping details about the exact plot to himself. Even with this first trailer, things aren’t exactly made clear, but it does look rather intriguing.

IMDB says of the film, ‘When aspiring model Jesse moves to Los Angeles, her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who will take any means necessary to get what she has.’

Refn has previously said of the movie, “One morning I woke and realized I was both surrounded and dominated by women. Strangely, a sudden urge was planted in me to make a horror film about vicious beauty. After making Drive and falling madly in love with the electricity of Los Angeles, I knew I had to return to tell the story of The Neon Demon. This movie is a manifestation of the strong ties between us and will lead to many more adventures.”

The likes of Elle Fanning, Jena Malone, Keanu Reeves and Christina Hendricks star. [Read more…]

Exposed Trailer – Keanu Reeves looks for the truth about his partner’s death

6th December 2015 By Tim Isaac

exposed-keanu-reevesDid John Wick mark the start of a bit of a Keanu Reeves renaissance? He’ll probably be hoping so as his star power has gone off the boil a little since the days of The Matrix. One of his next films is Exposed, which sees him getting a little hard-boiled, although the actual movie has more of a supernatural side than the trailer suggests, with one of the characters experiencing visions.

The brief synopsis read: ‘When a detective starts to investigate his partner’s shocking death, he uncovers disturbing evidence of police corruption and a dangerous secret involving an unlikely young woman.’

The young woman is played by Ana de Armas (Knock Knock), whose character has apparently witnessed a miracle.

And while John Wick was directed by Reeves former stunt double, Exposed is the first movie from a former personal trainer to the stars, Gee Malik Linton, so Keanu certainly seems keen to work with people others might not give a chance to at the moment.
