The Predator Trailer – The alien hunter is back & just as deadly

5th September 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

There have been a couple of attempts to reinvigorate the Predator franchise, whether it’s been getting them to battle Aliens or taking us to their planet in Robert Rodriguez’s Predators. Fox finally seemed to have given up on it, until Iron Man 3’s Shane Black rocked up with a new idea and suddenly, The Predator was in the works.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.’

Black wrote the script and also directs, with Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski starring. The film will be in cinemas on September 12th. Take a look at the lastest trailer below. [Read more…]

Wonder (Blu-ray Review)

24th March 2018 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Izabela Vidovic, Mandy Patinkin
Directed By: Stephen Chbosky
Running Time: 113 mins
BBFC Certificate: PG
UK Release Date: March 16th 2018 (UK)

Our Score

God bless young Jacob Tremblay. The Room and Book Of Henry star is impossibly cute, something that comes through even under the large amounts of makeup he has to wear for Wonder. Although it might seem a little creepy to be talking about a young boy’s cuteness, in this case it’s vital to the film, as Tremblay’s talents are so central to the movie. The makeup is potentially a real barrier for an actor though, and a tough one for somebody so young to overcome. Jacob does it though with aplomb.

Tremblay plays August ‘Auggie’ Pullman, who was born with Treacher Collins Syndrome, which has left him with significant facial deformities. He’s been home-schooled by his mother (Julia Roberts), but will be going to mainstream school for the first time when he joins the fifth grade. Auggie is a shy and sensitive child, very aware of how others treat him because he looks different. [Read more…]

Wonder Trailer – Julia Roberts and Jacob Tremblay star in the heartwarming drama

24th May 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

With a trailer that’s already made some people cry (especially those who remember Mask) and a December release date set, it looks like Wonder may be hoping for some award love early next year. Now we get our first look at the movie with a trailer and poster.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘We’re thrilled to be sharing with you the emotional first trailer and new poster for WONDER, a new film from Lionsgate which is based on the New York Times bestseller by R. J. Palacio about a boy born to standout.

WONDER tells the incredibly inspiring and moving story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time. Starring Room’s Jacob Tremblay, as August Pullman, alongside Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Mandy Patinkin and Daveed Diggs, the film comes to UK cinemas in December 2017.

The Book Of Henry Trailer – Colin Trevorrow moves from dinosaurs to drama/thriller territory

31st March 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Colin Trevorrow had a monster hit with Jurassic World, but rather than staying in the world of dinosaurs or immediately making another mega-budget movie, he decided to helm The Book Of Henry. Not the trailer has arrived, which starts off suggesting this will be a quirky family drama, before veering into surprisingly dark thriller territory.

The Henry of the title is an 11-year-old boy, living with his mother (Naomi Watts) and brother. He realises the girl living next door, Christina, may be in danger from her stepfather, and so starts writing a book about how he’s going to rescue her. Eventually his mother gets involved, but they know it will be difficult to do anything, as Christina’s stepdad is the police commissioner.

Jacob Tremblay, Sarah Silverman and Lee Pace also star. Take a look at the trailer below. The Book of Henry will be in cinemas this summer. [Read more…]

Alfie Allen & Yvonne Strahovski Join Shane Black’s The Predator

23rd February 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

There are still plenty of people sceptical that yet another attempt to reboot the Predator franchise will work. However, this time there is hope, as Shane Black (Iron Man 3, The Nice Guys) is writing and directing the film.

Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown and Thomas Jane are already set to star. They’ve now been joined by Chuck and Dexter’s Yvonne Strahovski, as well as Game Of Thrones’ Alfie Allen.

Not a vast amount is known about the plot, although Holbrook will be the main character, with Strahovski as his ex-wife. They come into conflict again when their son (Tremblay) is drawn into the battle between Holbrook and an alien creature. It’s now clear who Allen will be.

Shooting has just started in Vancouver, with a February 2018 release date set.
