Hanna's Saoirse Ronan is certainly doing well for herself, having built herself into quite the star since she first caught people's attention in Atonement. Now Variety reports that she has signed on to star in Kevin Macdonald's indie drama, How I Live Now, based on a 2004 novel by Meg Rosoff.
In the film, Saoirse Ronan will play Daisy, a teenage girl from New York City who travels to England to spend the summer with family in the English countryside. However, when World War III breaks out and insurgents invade, Daisy and a younger girl named Piper must survive alone in the woods as they try to make it to safety. So it's a bit like Red Dawn except with more tea and scones.
Jeremy Brock and Tony Grisoni wrote the script, but it isn't known when the movie might shoot.
