It seems Christian Bale is setting a trend, as after he recently went over to Asia to make the Chinese made/funded movie Flowers Of Nanjing, Adrien Brody and Tim Robbins are following in his footsteps with a movie based on the novel Remember 1942, according to Variety.
Feng Xiaogang's film, which is yet to get an official title, is due to start shooting soon and centres on the human crisis that evolved in central China in 1942, when a major drought brought famine, but little help was forthcoming due to the war going between China and the invading Japanese.
There's no news on exactly what roles Brody and Robbins will play, but their presence, like that of Bale in Flowers Of Nanjing, is undoubtedly part of a new push amongst Chinese filmmakers and studios to try and get their movies to play outside Asia. Whether it will work will have to be seen.
