A female Oliver Twist - what sort of crazy madness is that! Next thing we know women will be thinking they should be allowed the vote and to go out to work. Olivia Twisted is billed as a modern take on Dickens' classic, with Variety reporting Twilight actress Ashley Greene is set to play the title role.
Based on Michael Roberts' screenplay, the film follows Ashley Greene's character, who's part of a group of street thugs. They find themselves embroiled in a turf war with a rival gang after Olivia's gang accepts a kidnapping job. The project is said to combine elements from the original Charles Dickens novel with a Gothic setting. It doesn't sound much like Oliver Twist to us, but we're prepared to be proven wrong.
There's no director attacked as yet, and so unsurprisingly it isn't certain when cameras will start rolling.
