The Expendables had an amazing cast full of action luminaries, so how can you top that for a sequel? Well, Jean Claude van Damme is a good start, and adding Chuck Norris ensures this will be the greatest movie ever.*
It seems the big-fisted duo have indeed been cast in the film, as IGN has discovered a page on the Millennium Films website that says both Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme will be in The Expendables 2, although there's no details on their exact roles.
Millennium Films has also revealed a synopsis for the film with a possible spoiler alert: 'The Expendables are back and this time it's personal! After Tool (Mickey Rourke), the heart and soul of the Expendables, is brutally murdered on a mission, his comrades swear to avenge him. They're not the only ones who want blood. Tool's beautiful young and wild daughter Fiona embarks on her own revenge mission, complicating matters when she is captured and ransomed by a ruthless dictator plotting to destroy a resistance movement. Now Barney and the Expendables must risk everything to save her and humanity.
The Expendables 2 will star Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Chuck Norris, Jean Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Scott Adkins, with Simons West directing. Whether it can outdo the first film is yet to be seen. A summer 2012 release has already been set, so they'd better start shooting the movie soon.
*It won't be the greatest movie, but I'm afraid Chuck Norris will beat me up if I don't say that.
