There hasn't been much info on Goliath since Scott Derrickson (Emily Rose) came aboard to direct the project back in January. It seems casting is getting under way though, as Twitch reports that Dwayne Johnson in talks to portray the title character, while Taylor Lautner is being approached about the David role.
Goliath will be a family adventure based on the classic David and Goliath biblical tale, but with modern themes (whatever that means - but that's what's been promised). The story centres on David, a young shepherd who ends up fighting the massive Goliath.
While it seems Johnson is likely to sign on, it isn't known if Lautner is interested in the project - but an offer is out. Twilight producers Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen are attached to Goliath, so it is possible Taylor Lautner may sign on to reunite with those producers.
