Will Ferrell Wants To Swear To God

He's attached to a pitch from the writers of Due Date

Will Ferrell may have had a bit of a hit last year with The Other Guys, but he could certainly do with a few more, as since his Anchorman days his ability to pick great projects has been pretty hit and miss. Just look at his last flick, the indie effort Everything Must Go, which made just $2.6 million on its US release.

He must be hoping that the writers of Due Date can help him out, as he's now attached to their pitch, Swear To God, which was just bought by Warner Bros.

Deadline has the news, although not much info on the plot, other than that 'it's a buddy comedy in which Ferrell plays a narcissistic hedge fund manager who thinks he has seen God.' It's not a huge amount to hang a film on, but presumably there's more to the plot that that.

Ferrell and Adam McKay are attached to produce, and it appear Step Brother and Other Guys helmer McKay may also direct, although he's not officially in that role at the moment. Ferrell will probably be hoping he can persuade McKay into the director's chair, as he's had more consistent success with him than without.
