It's been announced, via Variety, that Maggie Gyllenhaal will headline the cast of Eric D. Howell's upcoming supernatural thriller Voice from the Stone, playing a nurse haunted by an evil entity.
Based on the Italian novel 'Le Voce Della Pietra', the film is about a nurse who becomes haunted by the same malevolent entity terrorising one of her young patients in an old house in the Italian countryside. The nurse and the boy's father eventually enter into a relationship, which only worsens the problem.
The project is currently touring the Cannes marketplace, trying to pick up sales. There's no news though on when the film might shoot.
