This will come as a shock to no one, but Universal is already planning a sixth Fast & Furious movie, and have hired Chris Morgan to pen the script as the first assignment in a two-year first-look deal he's just signed with Universal Pictures, according to THR.
The idea of Fast Six is particularly unsurprising as the franchise has been one of Universal's most conisistent earners in the last decade, and when Vin Diesel first started talking about Fast Five, he suggested they were already thinking about how the story would lead into a sixth film.
There's no details on the story, and it isn't certain if the entire Fast & Furious ensemble would return - but as the likes of Vin Diesel and Paul Walker have had difficulty finding sustained success outside the franchise, don't be surprised if they are back.
Morgan, who wrote the third, fourth and fifth Fast & Furious Films as well as the likes of Wanted, has also been linked through his new deal to the Terminator movie Fast Five director Justin Lin is planning (and which recent rumours have suggested may be eyeing Diesel as a new cyborg), as well as a movie based on the popular Japanese monster game Bakugan.
