While Whip It didn't exactly break the bank, it did get some very good notices for its director, Drew Barrymore. Now she's planning to go back behind the camera for How To Be Single, based on the novel by Liz Tuccillo, a former Sex and the City story editor.
According to THR, the film will be 'In the mold of New Line’s successful multi-story pics such as He’s Just Not That Into You (which Barrymore produced) and Valentine’s Day' and explores the loves lives and break-ups of a group of New Yorkers over the course of ten years. Marc Silverstein and Abby Kohn are on scripting duties, and perhaps unsurprisingly, they were also the guys behind He's Just Not That Into You.
Although it all sounds a bit generic and blah, hopefully Barrymore will be able to bring a bit of spark to the proceedings.
