Jeremy Renner really needs to slow down. While his Hurt Locker success made him a star, if he keeps signing up for films at this rate, he'll be in every movie coming out for the next few years. Along with big movies like Mission Impossible IV and The Avengers, he's now revealed that he's also in talks to star in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, and that Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace may join him.
Renner revealed the news to Dagsavisen (via Twitch), so it does seem it's official, even if it does sound like an odd choice for the pair. Directed by Tommy Wirkola, who made the surprisingly good Nazi Zombie movie, Dead Snow, the idea is to follow up Hansel & Gretel's story years after their experiences in the gingerbread house, by which time they've become bounty hunter, who specialise in tracking down witches.
However, while the movie has been in development for a while, no production date has been set, and if Renner does sign on, it may have to wait for his hectic schedule to clear, although he and Rapace would make one hell of a screen pairing.
