Up In The Air screenwriter, Sheldon Turner, must be thinking he's the luckiest man on Earth at the moment, as Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper are pretty the two most in-demand leading men for comedies at the moment, and he's scored both of them for his upcoming film.
THR reports they're both attached to the currently untitled action comedy, which 'follows two friends, who are also San Francisco cops, whose fathers were once partners on the police force. The older generation is forced out of retirement to help their sons crack a case, with typically antagonistic results. The actioner is meant to have an updated Lethal Weapon flavor that plays into edgier R-rated territory.'
The question that obviously raises is that while Cooper and Reynolds will presumably play the younger characters, who will they get to play the dads, as there's a huge amount of scope for some cross-generational fun here? However one word of warning. Reynolds and Cooper are both attached to an awful lot of films, and while a match-up will be good, there's no guarantee it'll happen here, as a lot will end up depending on their schedules and whether they can make final deals with a studio. Let's cross our fingers though.
