Earlier today we reported on Zac Efron's latest efforts is trying to become a proper movie star and move away from purely having a tween fanbase Well, it turns out he's not the only one, as Variety says that Miley Cyrus is sniffing around a remake of the 1999 French flick, LOL: Laughing Out Loud.
Cyrus would play a teenager who gets dumped by her more sexually experienced boyfriend and then sets her sights on his best friend. At the same time her 40-somthing mother is struggling to move on with her life, with the narrative backbone of the film provided by the fraught relationship between mother and daughter. Unsurprisingly, with a title like that, the film also involves plenty of texting.
Demi Moore is circling the film with an eye to playing the mother.
The film will be directed and written by Lisa Azuelos-Alessandrin, who also made the original French version. At the moment neither Cyrus or Moore has officially signed onto the movie, although both are said to be very interested.
