Set in early 20th Century Arabia at the dawn of the oil boom, Black Gold centres on a young Arab prince torn between allegiance to his conservative father and modern, liberal father-in-law. He dreams of a realm of infinite possibility, a kingdom with roads, schools and hospitals all paid for by the black gold beneath the barren sand. There is only one problem. The precious oil is located in a no man's land between two rival tribes, with the peace between the sides relying on this buffer zone, but with oil under the sand, it turns into a war over control of the future. The film stars Tahar Rahim, Mark Strong, Antonio Banderas and Freida Pinto and hits UK cinemas February 24th.
