Based on one of the more unusual moments in the thawing of the Cold War, Big Miracle (previously known as Everybody loves Whales) stars Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski as two people desperately trying to save a trio of whales that have become trapped as the ice shelf around their breathing holes grows and they can't get out to sea without drowning. The animal's predicament soon causes a bit of a media sensation and some unprecendented co-operation when a Soviet vessel is brought in to try and break through the ice and save the creatures.
