Blackthorn Trailer

What if Butch Cassidy survived the infamous stand-off?

At the end of Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid, the duo are caught in a famous freeze-frame, so that while it look like they're going to die, the question is left open. The movie didn't do that just because it's better than seeing the protagonist gets their heads blown off, but because there are genuine questions about whether they truly died in a stand-off in Bolivia in 1908 (they almost certainly did, but the bodies were never formally indentified, and legends grew up that Cassidy at least had survived). The new movie Blackthorn supposes Butch (Sam Shepard) did indeed live on long past his supposed expiration date, and is quietly living out his years under the name James Blackthorn in a secluded Bolivian village. Tired of his long exile from the US and hoping to see his family again before he dies, Cassidy sets out on the long journey home. But when an unexpected encounter with an ambitious young criminal (Eduardo Noriega) derails his plans, he is thrust into one last adventure, the likes of which he hasn't experienced since his glory days with the Sundance Kid. No UK release date has been set, but take a look at the trailer belwo.
