Predators Sneak Peak
Saturday March 13, 2010
First look at the upcoming much-anticipated sequel
Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal have been busy at work in the past few months on their official Predator sequel, simply known as Predators. Yesterday they premiered the first footage from the film at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, and just so that the rest of us don't miss out, they've released some of that online, as well as Robert Rodriguez talking about the movie. Although we don't get to see much of the Predators themselves (or the new race of Predators the film will feature), there are some designs for the promised alien animals (think of the sort of attack dog a Predator would want). The movie sees the aliens kidnapping a bunch of the most bad-ass humans they can find and dumping them on their planet, so they can be hunted. Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne and Topher Grace star, and the movie - which unlike the recent Alien vs. Predator movies is promised as a bloody, violent R-rated flick - should be in cinemas this summer.
Shrek Forever After Trailer
Friday March 12, 2010
Full preview for the final Shrek installment
While we had a teaser a couple of months ago, Dreamworks Animation has now released the first full trailer for the upcoming final instalment in the Shrek series. However while this is supposedly the last film with all the crew, don't worry as they're already planning a Puss In Boots spin-off for next year, and I wouldn't be shocked if Shrek 5 turns up in a few years time. However, Shrek Forever After sees Shrek going a bit It's A Wonderful Life, with the big ogre discovering what would have happened if he'd never gone to Far, Far, Away, and realising that without him there, his friends would be in serious trouble. The movie hits cinemas in May, but click below for the trailer.
Streetdance 3D Trailer
Friday March 12, 2010
British film is going three dimensional with Britain's Got Talent winners
The UK is going three-dimensional and using everybody who's ever danced in Britain's Got Talent to do it. Streetdance, Britain's first digtial 3D movie, follows in the footsteps of the likes of Step Up and Save The Last Dance, with an urban dance crew determined to win the UK Streetdance Championships, who are forced to work with Royal Ballet dancers in return for rehearsal space. While they initially seem to have nothing in common, as bonds are forged they realise they need to find a way to work together in order to win. The film features top ballet dancer Richard Winsor, as well as actress Nichola Burley, along with Britain's Got Talent dance sensations George Sampson, Flawless and Diversity. The full trailer for the film has now been released, which you can watch by clicking below. The film hits UK cinemas on May 21st.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Trailer
Thursday March 11, 2010
Bella and Edward are back, and Jacob's got his shirt off again
The Twilight Saga: New Moon hasn't even hit DVD yet, but Summit Entertainment (and distributor E1 Entertainement on this side of the pond) is keen to keep the ball rolling on the frnachise, and so The Twlight Saga: Eclipse will hit UK cinemas on July 9th, only eight months after the last movie arrived. This time around, the rivalry for Bella's affections grows between vampire Edward and werewolf Jacob, while she must also decide between mortality and immortality. Now the first trailer for the film has been released, promising more Jacob topless (stop screaming girls), and more tortured Bella and Edward romance. I know it seems popular on movie blogs to kick Twilight, but I like the films, and this looks like it could be pretty entertaining too.
New Robin Hood Trailer
Thursday March 11, 2010
This time with dialogue and everything!
It was noticeable in the first trailer for Ridley Scott's Robin Hood, that all the studio wanted to do was sell the film's large scale action. However this time around they've set out to show that the movie is going to have dialogue, acting and even a plot! That dastardly King John is once more making the peasant's life difficult, so Robin and his men must face off against the Sheriff Of Nottingham, robbing from the rich and grumpily giving to the poor (after all, Robin is played by Russell Crowe, who can't do anything but act grumpy), while flirting with Maid Marian. The new trailer also has a fair bit of action, although there's yet to be anything released for the film that's got me very excited. I could be wrong though, as it's being sold almost like its Gladiator 2, and that pic did pretty well.
The Runaways - Cherry Bomb Music Video
Thursday March 11, 2010
Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning show off their rock chops
The makers of the Cherie Currie and Joan Jett biopic, The Runaways, seem very keen to show off that Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart played their own instruments and did their own singing in the film. As a result they've released a music video of the duo singing what is perhaps the rock band, The Runaways, most famous song, Cherry Bomb. It's not as bad as you might expect, and suggests this may actually be a pretty good, gritty flick, which charts the jailbait rockers' brief career, which saw them rise to fame, but then implode due to drugs, sex and in-fighting. Click below to watch the music video.
Valhalla Rising - First Five Minutes
Thursday March 11, 2010
See the opening of Nicolas Refn's violent Viking flick
The Viking era is getting gritty and very gory in Nicholas Winding Refn's (Bronson) Valhalla Rising. Now the rather strange but definitely intriguing opening sequence of the film has been released, which is both violent and well worth watching. The film itself is about a mute, one-eyed Viking warrior (Mads Mikkelsen), who's been kept prisoner by a Norse chieftain, but manages to kill his captors and escape, setting off on a boat into unknown waters. Valhalla Rising is set for release in the UK on April 30th. Be warned though, the clip below is only suitable for those over 18, as it is very violent.
Just Wright Trailer
Wednesday March 10, 2010
Queen Latifah as a sports trainer?
Queen Latifah has shown that given the right material she can be one hell of an actress, but she keeps picking dumb projects that waste her talent. Just Wright look likely to be the latter, although it might be okay. In the movie, Latifah stars as a sports trainer (yes, she really does) who falls for the basketball player (Common) she's working with. However problems arise when it becomes clear her best friend (Paula Patton) is also pursuing him. Click below to watch the trailer.
New Suck Trailer
Wednesday March 10, 2010
Fresh promo for the bizarre, rock star filled, vampire musical
Although it has to be said Suck doesn't look like it's going to be a masterpiece, it's intriguing enough that its worth posting the new trailer for it. A musical, comedy, vampire horror, it features cameos from Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Henry Rollins, Moby, Carole Pope and more. The main plot sees a rock 'n' roll band desperately trying to get a record deal, who find new focus when their sexy bass player (Jessica Pare) gets turned into a bloodsucker. As the rest of the band succumb to the blood lust they become megastars, but discover giving up your soul may be a high price for fame, especially when a legendary vampire hunter (Malcolm McDowell) comes after them. Take a look below for the bizarre new trailer.
Tron Legacy Trailer
Tuesday March 9, 2010
Amazing new look at the lightcycles, Bridges and more
It's safe to say that even though it's only March, Tron Legacy is already shaping to be one of the most anticipated (and certainly most hyped) movies of the year. A new trailer was launched on Friday to play before Alice In Wonderland, and while that showed off the 3D, a two-dimensional version has now appeared online. Although it takes a while to get going while it takes us back to Fynn's arcade, it's very cool once we get into the CG world. Earlier test footage that was released suggested it was gonna look good, but the trailer promises visuals that verge on the remarkable. Click below to take a look. Tron Legacy is out in December.
