Orlando Bloom may not have appeared in the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie, On Stranger Tides, but at Disney’s D23 Expo he made an appearance to confirm he’ll be back for the fifth adventure, Dead Men Tell No Tales.
He appeared wearing full Jack Sparrow costume, suggesting that perhaps this time around he’ll be a pirate in his own right, taking Johnny Depp’s character as his inspiration.
The first proper synopsis has also been released, which reads: ‘Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.
‘The film is directed by Espen Sandberg & Joachim Rønning and stars Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, Kevin R. McNally, Kaya Scodelario, Golshifteh Farahani, Stephen Graham, David Wenham and Geoffrey Rush. Jerry Bruckheimer is the producer and Chad Oman, Mike Stenson, Joe Caracciolo, Jr. and Brigham Taylor serve as executive producers. Jeff Nathanson wrote the screenplay. “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales releases in 2017.’
