Dreamworks Animation has had a rather hit and miss couple of years. While The Croods was a hit, the recent Mr Peabody & Sherman flopped and last week’s US opening of How To Train Your Dragon 2 wasn’t a big as they’d hoped.
They’re obviously hoping to avoid a repeat with the upcoming Home. A couple of months ago we gota four-minute short film, and now comes the trailer.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘When Earth is taken over by the overly-confident Boov, an alien race in search of a new place to call home, all humans are promptly relocated, while all Boov get busy reorganizing the planet. But when one resourceful girl, Tip, (Rihanna) manages to avoid capture, she finds herself the accidental accomplice of a banished Boov named Oh (Jim Parsons). The two fugitives realize there’s a lot more at stake than intergalactic relations as they embark on the road trip of a lifetime.’
Home will feature the voices of the likes of Rihanna, Jim Parsons, Steve Martin and Jennifer Lopez. It’s due to hit cinemas December 2014.
